(AZ Gov) Symington: I saw a UFO in the Arizona sky

Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington will be moderating a November 12 event at the National Press Club where he will discuss the Phoenix Lights incident. He says he will be joined by 14 former high-ranking military and government officials from seven countries who will share evidence from what they call their own UFO experiences and investigations.
Fife Symington says he nearly had a close encounter while governor of Arizona.
(CNN) -- In 1997, during my second term as governor of Arizona, I saw something that defied logic and challenged my reality.
I witnessed a massive delta-shaped, craft silently navigate over Squaw Peak, a mountain range in Phoenix, Arizona. It was truly breathtaking. I was absolutely stunned because I was turning to the west looking for the distant Phoenix Lights.
To my astonishment this apparition appeared; this dramatically large, very distinctive leading edge with some enormous lights was traveling through the Arizona sky.

I don't care what he saw. If the green men would happen to crash on U.S. soil, and didn't have a green card, then they gotsta go. Look what happened during that one movie with James Caan "Alien Nation": Illegal Aliens on the dole, hooked on crack, and reveling in human porn.

Cuz it is flying, and you don’t know what it is. If you can’t identify it, it’s a UFO. Note, a UFO is not necessarily a “flying saucer” and it isn’t necessarily “from out there”.
I wish folks would get off this. I’m an amateur astronomer, and over the last forty plus years, I’ve seen a LOT Of weird things in the sky (no, I don’t think they were aliens)... lol
But, just because someone sees something he or she can not explain doesn’t mean they are kooks.

The movie “Fire in the Sky” was based on events that allegedly took place in Arizona. Arizona is right next to New Mexico, where Roswell is.
Co-incidence?

Words have more than one meaning. Everyone knows the words the initials UFO stand for. An unknown insect can be a UFO when you take the words literally. In common parlance UFO means alien craft (even if it is hovering and not flying). It's American English and used properly. No need to get riled.

Not at all. I have a lot of knowledge of it too. Goes hand-in-hand with being an astronomer. LOL! There is, in my opinion enough real evidence to say “I’m not sure there aren’t visitors”. But, I won’t go out on a limb and say there really ARE visitors. I just won’t say there aren’t.
I’m also of the opinion that there is, indeed, life out there. Big time.
We’re going to find life on Mars, I would stake money on it.

Haven’t you wondered why the world is so crazy, lately?
Why it seems our politicians are going all out to rape and pillage the populace?
It’s because they know.
The time has come, and soon, everyone will know.
And it’s gonna suck, big time. Every man for himself will be the rule of the day, so be prepared, it is coming.

“UFO means alien craft” in pop culture and undisciplined minds. In precise and proper usage, it means exactly what the acronym says, as Captain Ruppelt intended.

LOL! Who said *I* got riled? I didn’t. I KNOW words have MEANING. No, words don’t usually have MORE than one, but if they DO they are RELATED.
UFO doesn’t have more than one meaning, it has one, and only one. It doesn’t mean “kook”. “I saw a flying saucer” however will give pause to most reasonable people. Unless they see them themselves. LOL

If you see a UFO, how do you know its a UFO?............ If you can't identify it and it's flying, then it's an unidentified flying object. That doesn't imply it's from outer space or anything, it just means you can't identify it.

No, UFO does NOT mean “alien craft”. UFO is means exactly what it means, Unidentified Flying Object. Something in the sky, that appears to be flying, which is not obviously identifiable. It does NOT mean “alien space craft”. That’s a title you’re applying to “popular culture”.
In fact, if you said “Flying saucer” then you might be talking about “an alien space craft”. Saying “Alien Spacecraft” presupposes you already know that aliens are flying it. Saying UFO means you don’t KNOW what it is.
Let’s not assume because Kucinich or the former Governor of Az were thinking “alien spacecraft”. Well, perhaps the Governor is, because he’s as much as said in interviews he felt it was “controlled by intelligence” and he didn’t say HUMAN intelligence.
But to admit you’ve seen something you can’t identify doesn’t automatically make someone mentally suspect, and I don’t care which side of the political aisle he’s on. (Unless it was Ron Paul, since he’s already proved he’s suspect)
