Senate now voting on confirmation of Mukasey for Attorney General
Live on C-Span 2.
He’s going to be confirmed.
Senator McConnell lambasted the Democrats on the way this AG was handled in confirmation vs the way Reno was handled.
Hope someone posts the video.
Nelson of Florida came out of the fog long enough to vote NO.
Wow, late night in DC.
Yeah, the Dems are hoping the moonbats will be circling the moon and not notice the confirmation.
Fienswine....aye
Feinstein aye, Nelson Nebraska aye.
“In the midnight hour...”
Landreiu, Louisiana D - aye
Tell me he did NOT go there, LOL?! He’s got some nerve, doesn’t he?
And amazingly enough, Mary Jo Kopechne still has no comment...
Chuckie....Aye
By all reports, Teddy has a dog named Splash.
Kept flipping over to CSPAN and heard a lot of talking and no action so I moved on.
Thanks for putting the thread up. What a bunch of theater for no reason. Talk about wasteful spending. Congress should go green look at the electricity they are wasting for a confirmation that was a done deal days ago.
Chuckie Aye, with regrets for getting himself in this “pickle”.
Who better to speak than the Senior Senator from MA on the subject. He speaks from first hand experience.
Mark Levin’s going to have a field day with this!!
Can’t wait. ;-)
Carper D DE Aye?
53-40 confirmed.
Senate approves, 53-40...
Confirmed...so we have an AG?
What kind of doublespeak is Dickie Durbin trying to pass under the radar???
BUMP!!
Just watched. Congrats to AG Mukasey.
Mazel Tov !
Did you see Bryd get up and almost collapse? Man that guy is getting a bit “long in the tooth”.
Durbin is double-speaking on some crap.
Yeah, “Sheets” Byrd is shaking more than Charo doing the hootchie-cootchie dance! :-O
His nose is running away from him, apparently he’s sick—I have a cure for that: TERM LIMITS.
By this time Kennedy has the flask out, sucked dry, and inhaling he fumes.
Headed for that bottom left drawer in the office desk at breakneck speed.
LOL. Limbaugh will love that one. The parody writes itself.
Now if only one of the GOP senators had the nerve to castigate Kennedy for talking about water and drowning *on the Senate floor.* The place would erupt.
53 votes in favor? Not as many as I expected. Did every Republican support him? With Feinstein, Schumer, Nelson, Landrieu, and Carper that should be at least 54. How about Lieberman? I guess the roll call will be available shortly.
A new plus in W's win-column!!!
You can bet if the Senate had rejected Mukasey by a 40-53 margin, the article would have read, Full Senate Rejects Mukasey Bid for AG.
Lieberman was an aye. I don’t know who the 7 non votes were.
And don’t forget to use the word (incorrectly) BIPARTISAN repeatedly so it sounds like everyone is on the same side on the issues!!!
Man, that gets on my last nerve when San Fran Gran Nan does that! Feh.
**53-40 confirmed.**
Where are the other seven votes? Out campaigning for President? Who was absent?
Campaigning? Probably. Vote totals should be furnished shortly and I’ll try to post.

Bayh—FOR? That is surprising. Usually that “moderate” sides with the far left. I suppose this will make him less eligible for the VP slot next year.
53 is rather low but about the best GWB could do I suppose. Would have been at least 56 if those 3 Republicans had been there. Of course Dodd is too busy running for president to actually represent our state. A poll showed most CT residents think he should quit the race too.
Well, I see “my” senators (the two morons from Washington) voted straight anti-America ticket ;’}

And so it begins! LOL! :-)
Practice what you preach, Senator, practice what you preach! ;-)
Yeah, that was too funny, trapped by his own big mouth.
