Clinton Charges Through Iowa, Bill Clinton Likens Attacks on Hillary to 'Swift Boat' Ads
Fox News.com ^ | Nov 6, 2007 | Serafin Gomez, Major Garrett and Aaron Bruns, AP

Posted on 11/06/2007 7:52:53 PM PST by RDTF

AMANA, Iowa — With less than two months until the Iowa caucuses, Hillary Clinton is charging through the early-voting state in an attempt to widen a lead that was recently imperiled when her Democratic opponents stepped up their game of hardball against her following last week's candidate debate.

The frontrunner's worries that opponents Barack Obama and John Edwards could outflank her in the heartland have set her to hiring 100 new staff in Iowa and possibly doubling that army by election night on Jan. 3.

It also has led to a back and forth about fair play that has even dragged husband Bill Clinton into the fray.

The former president has denounced attacks on his wife, likening criticism of her positions on issues to the attack ads by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth that helped sink John Kerry's White House hopes in 2004.

"We saw what happened the last seven years when we made decisions in elections based on trivial matters. When we listened to people make snide comments about whether Vice President Gore was too stiff. And when they made dishonest claims about the things that he said that he'd done in his life. When that scandalous Swift Boat ad was run against Senator Kerry," Bill Clinton told some 3,000 members of the American Postal Worker's Union at a convention in Las Vegas on Monday night.

"I had the feeling that at the end of that last debate we were about to get into cutesy land again," he continued. "I think it's fine to discuss immigration. We should. ... But not in 30 seconds, yes, no, raise your hand. This is a complicated issue."

Hillary enabled the rapist and the rapist enables her a career she herself could never qualify for.

Kind of like a mutual parasitic relationship going on there.

Hillary makes a handful of appearances and she is described by AP as “charging through Iowa.”

“My voice is getting a little worn down. I’ve been talking for about 10 months. Especially the last four days,” she said Tuesday in Amana.

Can you imagine what the AP would make of Fred Thompson saying such a thing?

RUSH: When you have 77% of the people in the country opposing illegal immigration and driver's licenses for illegals, you can flip-flop all day long, and you're not going to get your tail out of the hot wax. Clinton can come along and say "hey, you know, it's too complicated. You can't put this in a sound bite. You can't sound bite that answer. You people aren't nuanced enough to understand this like we do." That isn't going to sell with anybody. Tell people they're stupid? That's really a way to win 'em over. "It's too complicated for you to understand. I would love explain it to you, but..." it's not complicated at all. They're trying to make it complicated because they're trying to get themselves out of the excrement.

China probably has Bubba’s portrait hanging in a place of honor in some museum just like Vietnam has John F’n Kerry’s portrait hanging in the “War Remnants Museum” in Ho Chi Minh city.

This pathetic weasel, Kerry, not Klinton, deserves the derision accorded to someone whose comrades condemn him by something like 230 to 11 (memory not precise on the numbers). Among the people condemning J F’n are an Admiral, Navy Captains, many other officers and many, many other distinguished warriors. His supporters are composed of a bunch of athletic supporters, size Small.

“The frontrunner’s worries that opponents Barack Obama and John Edwards could outflank her in the heartland have set her to hiring 100 new staff in Iowa and possibly doubling that army by election night on Jan. 3.”

I’m a bit confused by this story... I remember reading that Hillary hired 100 new staffers in Iowa about 2 weeks ago, and at the time it was heralded as a sign she was optimistic about winning the state. How can it be a sign she’s worried, if it happened before the debate?

So I guess the question is : did she actually hire another 100 new staffers, or is someone reporting the 100 old ones as if it occured more recently than it actually did? Because, quite honestly, I believe some people are being delusional if they think Hillary will not be the Democratic nominee. Voters formed their opinions about her long ago, and assuming people support Hillary because they just don’t realize she’s a liar seems naive at this point.

Bill came out to play man for Hillary who evidently can’t stand up for herself to men.
Secondly, there is no defense for her lack of direct answers in the debate, so what is an empty suit to do?

It’s like a Jew calling someone a Hitler.
A black saying a white person called them the N word.
But for Democrats, it’s the swift boating word.

Now granted the swift boat folks were legit and their points were all spot on, but the Democrats got hurt by them, and therefore the Swift boats for Democrats is like saying the N word or calling someone Hitler.

I have documented the depredations of this ghastly woman ( and for whatever it's worth, I always regarded her as the worse side of "the two for one Presidency..." ) until I was blue in the face- click the Pix, scroll back, to see the latest "mask falls off during the debates," Lesbian rumors, fundraising scandals, and much, much more:

Needless to say, I regard the prospect of eight more years ( never fear a four-year Co-Presidency; the symbiotic Media Hive will assure another four if Hillarrheah! is ever allowed to slither in to office... ) of nearly a decade more of this Hillbilly Clown Car Circus

with apprehension- will we see another surge of resistance to her loony ideas, ala the first incarnation of Clintonism, or will America go quietly into that Good Night?

Anticipating eight years of that horrible screech lecturing her lessors every day on TV gives me the creeps.

To say nothing of the prospect of a rerun of Clinton I and II-- the Friday night data dumps, the bobbleheads on TV nodding at The Received Wisdom from their betters, the all
abortion, all gun control, all suppress free speech-- all the time...nonstop propaganda...

I'm not the first to follow The Lady MacBeth of Little Rock:

I’m no McCainiac; far, far from it.

But McCain came out against the principle of running the ads. He was all sad and weepy that any group of vets would accuse another vet of such a thing in a campaign ad. He felt it was like refighting the antiwar vs prowar battles of many years ago and he wanted it left in the past. He didn’t want a fellow Senator running for President (and his friend, he said) to be targeted by fellow vets.

At no time do I recall McCain saying the vets behind the ads were lying. If he did, please show it to me.

Recently I saw McCain on TV with Bud Day. I believe it was on a C-Span covered event. They were buddy-buddy and had put their disagreement over the ads behind them. If McCain had said that Day and the others were lying about Kerry’s record, I don’t think such a scene would have been possible.

But not in 30 seconds, yes, no, raise your hand. This is a complicated issue.

Sounds like the Clinton camp has not gotten reliable polling information about what they say their position is on illegal aliens. You'd think all that money spent on finding out other people's opinion would be able to buy you a firm position.

And talking about John Kerry, celebrated combat hero of an unpopular war, doesn't sound like it plays to the primary voters.

Does Bill Clinton raise his whole hand, or just point fingers?
