I got to cast my vote for ‘my’ Haley Barbour today and for every other Republican on the ballot. Fancy voting machine too, but I conquered it without asking for help. How about that, huh? :0)

I had such a GOOD time at the polls and I remain thrilled I finally got to vote for Haley Barbour!

I’m sure you received the same mail — or, knowing you, likely more — from him and from Mrs. Barbour with the photos of their family and of them. I also got two phone calls — one recording by Haley and one from a live person who sounded really pleased when I told him I could hardly wait to go vote for Haley...lol.

I love having my vote actually count. I hope he wins in a landslide.

Hey LLS! GOOD to see you!!!

(Smiling) GOOD on her — she wrote in Fred Thompson! I love it. I left blank the unopposed democrats, and voted for the Indie when I had a choice.

Haley is THEE BEST, isn’t he? He’s kept every campaign promise despite the democrats.

Congrats to Mr. Barbour!

Not only has he done a terrific job as Governor in a Katrina time of crisis, has also done well in helping steal huge factories like Ford, from us northerners in the rust belt.

Also, since Bush is blamed for causing hurricanes in the first place - I say give Haley some credit for warding them off the last couple years. ;-)

In addition to the statewide offices, the other biggie is making sure we retain the State Senate and get closer to control in the House. Do you have some links to the election returns for everything ? I couldn’t find anything on the Sec of State site.

I’m calling it for Barbour (hell, if the MSM can call it for Beshear with 12% in, I’m calling it with 2% in for Haley !). GOP clean sweep of all the offices in MS except the incumbent AG (a problematic office we seem to have trouble winning in too many states — there hasn’t been a GOP AG in MS since Reconstruction).

We still haven’t been able to oust the Black Dem AG in Georgia, either, and we may not win the office in the runoff next week in LA.

Republicans are given an outside chance at winning the state House of Representatives. They’ll probably expand their narrow majority in the state Senate.

Early returns in one race show party-switching Ralph Doxey (son of early 20th century US Senator Wall Doxey) trailing his rodent opponent. :-\

MS has consistently failed us with making the kind of gains we’d often hope for going back to the ‘90s in the legislature, I’d hope this was the night we finally broke through.

Seems like. At least most states have the people choose the AG. Mine, TN, does not, and has the single-most unique and byzantine selection process that assures no Republican will ever be elected, even if we have gargantuan GOP voting majorities for other offices. It’s outrageous.
