Art’s rules for calling in...
1) One story per caller.
2) Don’t use a cell phone if you can.
3) Only the scariest stories please.
4) Preferably first person stories.

I wholeheartedly agree, used to like to turn off all the lights and just listen to the stories, however eventually after listening to a few of them decided the lights were better served turned on. LOL!
Now I know better and have the lights on from the start.

The ghost of Freddy Jackson
This intriguing photo, taken in 1919, was first published in 1975 by Sir Victor Goddard, a retired R.A.F. officer. The photo is a group portrait of Goddard's squadron, which had served in World War I aboard the HMS Daedalus. (Click the photo at left to see the entire photograph.) An extra ghostly face appears in the photo. In back of the airman positioned on the top row, fourth from the left, can clearly be seen the face of another man. It is said to be the face of Freddy Jackson, an air mechanic who had been accidentally killed by an airplane propeller two days earlier. His funeral had taken place on the day this photograph was snapped. Members of the squadron easily recognized the face as Jackson's. It has been suggested that Jackson, unaware of his death, decided to show up for the group photo. Interesting side note: In 1935, Sir Victor Goddard, now a Wing Commander, had another brush with the unexplained. While on a flight from Edinburgh, Scotland to his home base in Andover, England, he encountered a strange storm that seemed to transport him through time into the future. You can read more about his experience in the article "Time Travelers" under the section "Flight Into the Future."

The Ghost Monk
"The photograph above of a cowled monk standing by an altar rail was taken in the early 1960s by the vicar of a church in England. At the time he saw nothing that was out of the ordinary. But his developed film showed the tall phantom monk seen here. It appears to be about three metres tall. The film was carefully checked by photographic experts but showed no signs of tampering."

I find ghost stories intriguing, always wonder where these images come from, never experienced any myself but I believe there has to be reasonable explanations for these ghost sightings, it’s just nobody’s figured it out yet.
To: Cheapskate
I also enjoyed the old ‘political’ Art Bell, always thought he was conservative until I heard him say he was a libertarian. Think he just got tired of all the political games and decided to concentrate solely on ‘different realities’.
To: advertising guy
.....some stories are scary as hell2 of my favorites, the caller told a story of driving down the road and saw a women with a white dress and slowed to ask if she needed assistance, upon looking directly at her he found she had no face
the story of the guys walking through the woods( civil war battleground area)and heard the sound of someone coming towards them but saw no one. Whoever it was appeared to be getting closer and running faster towards them. The two guys decided to hightail it out of there but just as it sounded as though the person/thing was upon them they turned around only to see a pair of boots, just the boots, running after them.

‘The base is home to the USAF Intercontinental Ballistic Missile museum, which is very haunted according to the curator. The security system disarms itself frequently and the door unlocks and opens itself. Lights turn on and off, and the chandeliers swing when nobody else is in the building. The elevator has been rendered unusable because of the frequency with which it traps visitors between floors, but mechanics have been unable to find a cause for it. Several police dog handlers admitted that their dogs refuse to enter the attic. Bemused museum staff nicknamed the ghost Jeffrey and say they have learned to live with him. ‘

I'm not sure if I'm a conservative with libertarian streaks.
Or a libertarian with conservative streaks.

"Of all the ghost photos I've seen (well, except for that one that I can't show at the present time), this one is hands-down the most eerie. Probably the most disturbing too. I didn't know about this one until a few months ago. Almost ten years ago, on November 19th, 1995, Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England was engulfed in flames and burned to the ground. As firefighters tried to stave off the inferno a town resident, Tony O'Rahilly, took pictures from across the street using a telephoto lens on his camera. There, rather clearly in one of the photos, is what looks very much to be a small girl standing in a doorway, with the brightness of the flames behind her. No one ever remembered there being a small girl present on scene, much less in that close a proximity to the fire. The photo and the original negative were turned over to a photo expert who decided that the picture was 100% authentic: "The negative is a straightforward piece of black-and-white work and shows no sign of having been tampered with." Okay, so what's a girl ghost doing in such a big fire? Well in 1677 a fire destroyed many of Wems wooden houses. The fire was said to have been caused by a 14-year old girl named Jane Churm, who had been careless with a candle. Churm died in the fire along with several others, and her ghost is said to still haunt the area. Whether there's such a thing as ghosts or not, it must be said: if this is just a trick, an illusion of smoke and fire that happened to be captured on film, it's a zillion-to-one coincidence that it just so happened to appear in the form of a girl who also died in a terrible fire at the same location. But hey, stranger things than that have happened in this world, right?"

Well I’m not regretting it, I don’t like things that go bump in the night, I already know demons exist and don’t care for their activities neither.

I find it absolutely amazing how the recent flood of “orb” photos just happens to coincide with the wide availability of inexpensive digital cameras with cheap optics.

What's
really spooky is if you page up and page down, it almost looks as if the figure's position changes slightly.
Could be just the "Ghost to Ghost" effect, however. :-)
Always good to hear Art on the air.

Interesting, ghosts must be everywhere only we’re not constantly taking pictures to catch them all. Must be a reason why a camera can catch them when the naked eye sometimes can’t.

A gal I know tells the story of when her mom was in the hospital as she was dieing. During one visit the mom was saying how it was so nice to talk to “Dad” (the mom’s departed husband). The daughter figured the meds or her illness were giving her hallucinations. But later the nurse was talking and mentioned that the mom really seemed to perk up during her visit with “Tom”. (Of course that was the husband’s name, and the nurse described him properly as well!)
