Make Way for a Second UN

Bad treaties never die. Such is the lesson of the Law of the Sea Treaty, or LOST. The treaty would turn over all of the world's unclaimed natural resources to a second United Nations, yet is beginning to move towards ratification. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is scheduled to vote on the treaty on Wednesday.

Three decades ago the Third World was busy campaigning for a so-called New International Economic Order (NIEO), which combined demands for more foreign aid, UN regulation of business, and collectivist resource development. LOST declared all seabed resources to be the "common heritage of mankind," levied fees and royalties on Western mining and oil companies, created a monopoly company to mine the seabed, and established a new international body to divvy up the spoils.

Bush makes me sick to the bottom of my toes.’

And the party wonders why many are not coming out to vote Republican.

They are giving away our country.

Daddy Bush told everyone about the New World Order he wanted. With Clinton and Baby Bush’s help it is becoming a reality.

What is funny is that the people that blame Clinton and the Democrats will probably be silent because Bush is behind this. But, Bush seems to be behind a lot. And don’t forget the Clinton’s and Bush’s are buddies.

Even if it is ratified, could we leave it?

“Even if it is ratified, could we leave it?”

That’s an excellent question.

I’m the only retard that will post this here, but who is going to be the World’s Coast Guard for the next 100 years?

I need my Navy to be able to operate. This allows for Blue Water Navies to do our thing. This not only codifies our ability to do our thing, as well as if we end up being the World’s Coast Guard (IE we keep sea ways open) we can get something back.

Flame Suit on.

THANKS TRAITORS FOR FOLLOWING THE WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

Thanks to these imbecilic socialist pansies, America is being shoved down the sewer of global politics!

We're so busy pushing 'democracy' to Iraq and other nations that we fail to realize that ours doesn't work worth a damn.

Our nation will begin to resemble Germany before Hitler.

What we need is a benevolent, right-wing dictator who will shove all these destroyers into a penal colony.

I'm completely fed up!

We're LOST!

WASHINGTON – In a move that has already angered some of his most ardent supporters, President Bush has asked the Democratic leadership in the U.S. Senate to revive a proposal for ratification of the United Nation’s Law of the Sea Treaty, an international agreement defeated two years ago by Republican leadership in the upper house.

Critics say ratification would compromise U.S. sovereignty and place 70 percent of the Earth’s surface under the control of the U.N. – even providing for a “tax” that would be paid directly to the international body by companies mining in the world’s oceans.

Well, I think treaties can be repudiated, like the one that prevented Star Wars testing, but they almost never are. Just like laws can be repealed, but once passed, they become the default and nobody wants to be the one to suggest repeal.

I'm pretty sure our blue water Navy HAS been operating and doing what they do for over 100 years without the nod from some unaccountable International organization. This will do nothing except cause us grief.
