WASHINGTON Democratic Rep. Fortney "Pete" Stark of California apologized Tuesday for comments he made last week suggesting President Bush was sending troops to Iraq to get their "heads blown off for his amusement."
The apology came after the House voted 196-173 with eight members voting present to table a resolution introduced by House Minority Leader John Boehner censuring Stark.

Brit's showed his apology on his show.
The emails must have been overwhelming.
I guess that CNN poll was not representative to the rest of the country.

Stark should be gone at his next election run. What he said is unforgivable.
To: mware
He doesn’t mean it.
He’s just covering his a$$ because one of his staff told him the poll numbers look bad.

I always notice these apologies take a few days to come.
It’s sad that people have to check their polls to see if they should apologize, or not.

Not only were Stark’s comments mean spirited, nasty, cruel, and stupid, but they were untrue and provided ammunition for America’s enemies both at home and abroad. They say nothing about President Bush. They speak volumes about Stark. And they reveal—yet again—the basic mendacity of the Left and its Political Machine, the Democrat Party.

Like the Clintons, Stark apologized when he and party leaders realized his comments were politically damaging. For rats, that is what qualifies as “courage.” barf.

Amazing that 173 felt that Stark was just fine. Actually, since this was a vote to Table (i.e., "kill") the resolution, there were 196 who felt it was fine
To: mware
The apology came after the House voted 196-173 with eight members voting present to table a resolution introduced by House Minority Leader John Boehner censuring Stark. First, however, 196 members voted to support Stark's statement. Not one of them are worth a damn, IMO.

What he said, in essence, is that President Bush committed mass murder for fun, and used money that should have rightfully gone to children’s health care to do it. It’s no longer political discourse - it’s out and out slander.

“Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who was one of the members gathered around Stark, told FOX News that the war is taking a great toll on members of Congress who are going to funerals of soldiers, seeing veterans returning from war and not getting the services they need and listening to the views of their constituents.”
I do hope they are not bleeding on any carpets that were paid for by taxpayers. “Taking a great toll”... give me a break! In my mind, a “great toll” is reading my son’s autopsy report. Going to yet another of our troops’ funerals here and facing the family (I’m running out of fingers to count them on). Communicating off and on with well over a hundred families who have lost their sons in Iraq and Afghanistan. Discussing with mothers how one is to best handle it when the second or third shipment of a son’s remnants show up stateside. Meeting wounded troops and their young wives and having them console me. Great toll, indeed. Suck it up, Marcy, there is worse to come.
I think I need to write a few notes to these dingbats.

USMCPOP, did you lose a son in the war???
In any case you have a son serving.
Stark owed the first apology to those fighting and the families.
If you listen to the video you can see his comment about the troops came as an afterthought.

On the other thread about the apology, someone posted that Stark went over to the side and cried for 5 minutes after apologizing.
This was definitely a forced apology from Nancy. The DU'ers are ticked off BIGTIME with her for forcing his to apologize.

I apologize for this reason: I think we have serious issues before us, the issue of providing medical care to children, the issue about what we're going to do about a war that we're divided about how to end," Stark said. "I hope that with this apology I will become as insignificant as I should be and that we can return to the issues that do divide us, but that we can resolve in a better fashion."
He is NOT apologizing for making a disgusting slanderous remark about the President. He is apologizing for being a distraction from the dems legislative agenda.

What I want to know is where is the MSM? I mean, when Ann Coulter came out with a comment about some people "enjoying" the deaths of their husbands "too much," the MSM was all over Coulter.
Now, we have a Democrat who send that troops were being sent (& wounded/killed) all for the purpose of the "president's amusement."
Come out, come out whereever you are, MSM critics of Coulter. Show your consistency!
To: mware
