President Bush traversed the Chesapeake Bay on an invigorating fall morning yesterday, announcing conservation measures for migratory birds while on the west side of the waterway and for striped bass on the east before getting in some fishing himself.
At the national Patuxent Research Refuge in Laurel, the president promoted policies he said would protect habitat for 800 bird species that need resting places as they fly south for the winter and return when warm weather returns.
After a helicopter ride to St. Michaels, Bush unveiled an initiative to make red drum and striped bass, known locally as rockfish, more available to sport fishermen but less accessible as a commercial catch. Chesapeake watermen, who rely on the fish for income, are cool to the proposal.
Ever since Bush and Cheney first took office, a good friend of mine has written a letter to both of them, every year, inviting both of them to come to Minnesota for the duck hunting opener.
He’s still waiting....
So do I, both taste great when properly prepared
I remember a word from long ago.
Forgotten by all.
Conservation.
It wasn’t a bad word. And it was driven by common sense for the most part and was not loathing of America or capitalism.
I hear some aging rock n roller that likes to bow hunt still talks about it.
But now we have environmentalism instead, it has polarized everyone.
Also conservation sounds too much like conservatism.
Guess he's waiting until the North American Union is born. The man must meet himself in the hallway each morning on the way to the Oval office.
GWB is an utter embarrassment. Anyone still supporting him is definitely no conservative
While oil prices are climbing, he is coddling enviro-nazis.
Well I’m still considering myself as a conservative, and guess what? I still support PRESIDENT BUSH! If you still think that I’m not a conservative, well so be it. That’s your right, I suppose. I sure don’t go along with liberals either, unless as a liberal in an older sense. And I’m definitely not a leftist! So just what am I, huh?
I don’t worship the guy, as many of you “Bush-bashers” seem to think. Do I think he’s made mistakes? Well maybe some. Surely, no leader is perfect. But he’s still a good man, and a strong leader. And he’s still conservative enough for me, and for many others on this forum. And I feel, overall, he’s done a great job! Again, If that makes me less of a conservative in yours/other critics eyes, that’s just too bad! Whatever floats your boat!
I can’t make you feel or think a certain way, but neither can you. And I think that frustrates some of you gung-ho Bush-bashers, doesn’t it? It must drive you nuts, knowing you can’t browbeat his supporters into your way of thinking. Another thing you Bush-bashers won’t, do is drive us off this forum, at least not all of us! (hehehe)
Good-day now,
Dsutah
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
BUMP
I pray that the effects of his one world agenda hit his family as it is ordinary Americans
He is neither a conservative or compassionate. He is his father in drag
He has played the right like a violin, and some are too proud to admit it.
