FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 19, 2007 CONTACT: Gary Becks (619) 334-1655
San Diego, CA- - - Presidential candidate Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) made clear his displeasure with the recent comments made yesterday by fellow Representative Pete Stark during consideration on the House floor of legislation concerning childrens health insurance. In the debate, Congressman Stark remarked: You dont have money to fund the war or children. But youre going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the Presidents amusement.
Like many, Hunter believes the comments were completely irresponsible, a disservice to our troops and disrespectful to the President. Hunter called for an immediate apology.
Congressman Starks statement is incoherent and so off the wall that it lacks any substance. I would hope that Pete Stark would come back and apologize to our troops and their families for his callous statements.
This is really more about what has happened to the Democrat party as whole, as they are now a party dominated by the hard left. It is striking that no member on the Democratic side has stood up to such groups as MoveOn

That party is an emotional wreck. It absolutely disgusts me. How is it possible that grown ADULTS representing a major political party in this country be so totally irresponsible? Are they accountable to no one anymore?
To: Conservativegreatgrandma
I disgraced by Stark period. Everything. And I just sent out some foul words in email. So I know I’ll end up repeating them here if I stay.
I’ll just coin Mygirlsmom’s tag line with Stark and leave it at that until I calm down.

It is time that those in Congress are held accountable for their speech while on the Floor of the House and Senate.
They are using it to slander people.

If we didn't know any better, this absurd statement could easily be the lamentations of a 13 year-old girl.
Stark's sophistry is typical of what you find in any anti-war post at DemocraticUnderground.
Even a complete POS like Dick Durbin must be feeling totally absolved after this latest Dem nonsense.
To: Calpernia
What does it take to remove a Congressman??
Looking at the Constitution, 2/3 of the Senate must vote to impeach, but what does it take to start the process, and what %’age vote within the House??
If ever there was a cause or reason to remove a sitting Congressman, Stark is the poster boy for instituting action. With Pelosi and other Rats condemning his remarks, maybe there’s a majority to remove this asshole from office.

To: aShepard
Look again.
The Senate can remove executive branch officials and federal judges following impeachment against them by the House, but the Senate has no say whatsoever in removing House members from the House. Only the House itself can expel a member of their own Body. And impeachment is not the word or process. Expelling them is the proper word.
What got you off course is thinking that this would be an impeachment, and so you started looking at the Senate as being involved in removal...not so.

Thank you very much!
I was looking at Article 1 Sect 2, which concludes that “The House of Reps shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers, and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”
That took me to the Senate powers, and I appreciate your clarification!
Would still love to have this A-Hole removed from office. Maybe lunch in Ft Marcy park would do the trick.

Re Stark resigning.
Rep. Stark Raving Mad has always been a far-out leftist and communist sympathizer, starting with supporting communist united fronts on Vietnam and other issues including El Salvador, Nicaragua, et.
His wealth has enabled him to stay in office, besides the fact that he represents a far-left constituency.
Expect nothing from this anti-American piece of treason and insanity.
To: Calpernia
I heard Duncan Hunter talking about Stark (among other issues) on Bill O’Reilly’s radio show on Friday, and, as usual, Hunter did a great job.
O’Reilly had a substitute host from Philly who SOMETIMES acts like a conservative, & sometimes acts like a lib, but later said that the Republicans need to stop saying things like “cut & run.”
Idiotic. How can he compare ANY Republican with what Stark and other Dems say.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Well, Rep. Hunter publicly called for his removal months ago. As I said on another thread, we need more rugged individuals in this country today. More Republicans with the take charge, nuts and bolts demeanor Hunter exudes. It took men like Hunter to build this country to begin with, and it desperately needs rebuilding today.
