Monument to "Che" in Venezuela destroyed
Noticiero Digital (Spanish Language) ^

This afternoon [10/18/2007] the editorial desk of Noticiero Digital contacted the news department of Mérida radio station Estudio 102.7 FM, who confirmed the information reported this morning.
They added that the recently inaugurated monument was destroyed by gunfire. The glass monument honoring Argentinian guerilla Ernesto Guevara was not well received by the area's communities, to whom [Che] represented a figure who was totally foreign to its history and values.

Haa haaaaaaaa! How’s that “new-man” thing working out for you, Chavez? Looks like you still have a few real men (or women) down there somewhere.

It occurred to me that they could really make it a monument to Che by propping it up and pretending it was never destroyed.

"We don't want any monument to Che"
"Minister of Industry" (who destroyed Cuban industry)
"Ambassador" (who isolated Cuba from the world)
"Director of the Bank of Cuba" (who bankrupted the island)
"A cold blooded murderer"

“Very cool.”
Yes, very cool. I was just trying to explain to some younger friends the fine points of Che as an anarchist/communist/butcher. This will help in our next discussion, which will be how Hugo is about to drive Venezuela into abject poverty.

Glad to see some exhibit sanity in South America these days.
And nice shooting as well.

Looks like the Venezuela resisters of totalitarian thugs use more than women’s panties (a reference to the Myramar opponents’ tactics) to express their opposition.

Need to move these people to Portland Oregon, where the IDIOTS on City Council are changing the name of Interstate Avenue to, get this: Hugo Chavez Boulevard
Totally unbelievable...These city council members should be dragged outside, CURB STOMPED, tarred and feathered and shipped to Venezuela!!!

Same idea as “The Ballad of Lenin’s Tomb”
They tell you he’s a mummy -
don’t you make that bright mistake:
I tell you - he’s a dummy; aye, a fiction and a fake.
This eye beheld the bloody bomb that bashed him on the bean.
I heard the crash, I saw the flash,
yet . . . there he lies serene.
And by the roar that rocked the Tomb I ask:
how could that be?
But if you doubt that deed of doom, just go yourself and see.
You think I’m mad, or drunk, or both . . . Well,
I don’t care a damn:
I tell you this: their Lenin is a waxen, show-case SHAM.
Such was the yarn he handed me,
Down there in Casey’s Bar,
That Rooshun bug with the scrambled mug
From the land of the Commissar.
It may be true, I leave it you
To figger out how far.

So sad.
NOT. We should care about a monument to Che and the news on the damaged Viet Nam memorial has dried up? Disgraceful. We care to d___ much about things that just don't matter - things we couldn't and wouldn't do anything about and forget the important things.
Never, never, never apply this forgetfulness to 9-11.

“aren’t there any patriotic Americans left in Portland to oppose it?”
There are a lot opposing it. But this is the peoples republic of Portland, the socialist don’t care what the people want. We are to stupid to know what is best for us. Hell, we can’t even pump our own gas, we HAVE to let Juan do it for us.
