Hopefully we can stop this before it goes much further. Spitzer's breaking NY law as it currently requires a SSN to get a license and so the GOP is making plans to take it into court.

And he’s willing to flood our communities, put NY drivers at risk from increased DWI accidents, hand potential terrorists the keys to the kingdom and force our taxes even higher in order to pay for the huge demand in social services to get it.

"save people money on their insurance rates". Another bogus claim. There is no data to support this assertion. Insurance companies have no such data and Spitzer certainly doesn't. "Every security expert we have spoken to believes this policy makes us safer." I'm sure he hasn't spoken to any "expert" who would not fall into line. He certainly hasn't spoken to the several I have heard, both state and federal in both security and law enforcement who think his scheme is a very bad idea.

If you ask someone if they are illegal during a job interview you risk a lawsuit. But, employers do ask for drivers licenses as a general practice.

The driver license in probably the only hurtle to illegal employment. The Social Securety admin. doesn’t pursue cases where there is an illegal obviously contributing via a citizens SS#, they just collect the money. You don’t even have the right to know that someone is using your SS#.

Wait til we see the story about a family of four crushed by a 30 ton dump truck driven by an illegal with a Spitzer drivers license.
