The bible says that God will save a “remnant” of the Jews...
perhaps they will be christians?
All Christians have a Jewish Savior!
“Did RR have a son named Michael? I think hes on the right of politics.”
Ron Reagan: Ronald Reagan’s biological son
Michael Reagan: Ronald Reagan’s TRUE son (and adopted)
(IMHO)
“Christopher Hitchens can get onstage all day and say how the world
would be much better off without Christians “
...but Mr. Hitchens gets married in houses of worship and sends his
children off to religiously-affiliated schools.
(Noted by Tim Russert in a small debate he had with Christopher
Hitchens and that Meachum (sp?) fellow that writes articles on religion
at IIRC, Newsweek.
It did appear that Hitchens did SQUIRM a bit at
Russert’s announcements about his personal life.)
Yes. His first name should be “Twinkletoes” and his last name should be “Bouquet”.
Some of the angriest and selfish people I know are secular Jews. Some of the happiest are Messianic Jews. To be a practicing Jew, and accomplish all that the scriptures direct is not possible without the power of the Holy Spirit.
So what?
This is close. The Atheist says, he knows there is no God. The Agnostic says he doesn't know if there is a God. Thus the Atheist has taken a stand where the Agnostic has not.
Both worship self (as most humanists do), but the Atheist proclaims there is no God and has no choice but to exalt self in the process as Man has to worship something. And that Idol presently is self.
Very sad. Just goes to prove that upbringing isn't everything.
Worked for Madalyn Murray O'Hair, at least for a while, until one of her colleagues took to heart her do-unto-others-then split code of amorality.
I don't know what point Mr. Savage was attempting to make, but the paraphrase is from First Corinthians:
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;....
Personally, I put more faith in Christ than in myself.
Here's are two simple experiments that any atheist can perform.
Experiment #1:
Ask God to show you that He exists.
Experiment #2:
Step 1:
Rather than living by your own rules, take two weeks, and live like a Christian --love God with all your heart, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Step 2:
At the end of two weeks, look deep into your heart and see if you are happier.
Christopher Hitchens. Mother Theresa.
Don't know about you, but the choice is pretty obvious to me.
Sorry, I was using the royal “you,” not you particularly.
You made my day!
I can imagine the surprise of the DUmmies when they accidentally tuned in to Mother Angelica.
You haaaaaaaave to be kidding. Man, this guy is low.
Actually, I do sort of appreciate Christopher Hitchens AND his brother
Peter Hitchens.
Depending on the issue and my mood...I sometimes find myself agreeing
with Christopher...and on other days agreeing with his brother Peter.
I remember seeing the two brother debating whether The Royal Family
should be continued in a debate on CNN years ago.
The sharp contrast between the two brothers is entertaining and educational.

Because his mother was Nancy Davis Reagan. Us males; always looking for a woman who is somewhat opposite of us in temperament, etc. Must be part of our human makeup.

Michael R. is the one we-all right thinking people listen to. Ron R. is the one NRP talks to.
Skipper Reagan. Outstanding. That’s a compelling first guest right there, I’m telling you.
