(Peanut farmer from Georgia) Carter Accuses U.S. of Using Torture
NewsMax ^ | October 11, 2007

Posted on 10/11/2007 12:50:11 PM PDT by Kaslin

The United States tortures prisoners, former President Carter charged on Wednesday.

"I don't think it. I know it," Carter told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in an interview.

"Our country for the first time in my life time has abandoned the basic principle of human rights," Carter said. "We've said that the Geneva Conventions do not apply to those people in Abu Ghraib prison and Guantanamo, and we've said we can torture prisoners and deprive them of an accusation of a crime to which they are accused."

Carter also criticized President Bush's recent declaration: "This government does not torture people."

"That's not an accurate statement if you use the international norms of torture as has always been honored -- certainly in the last 60 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was promulgated," Carter charged.

"But you can make your own definition of human rights and say we don't violate them, and you can make your own definition of torture and say we don't violate them," Carter added.

Commenting on the Carter remarks, a senior White House official said, "Our position is clear. We don't torture. It's just sad to hear a former president speak like that."

So what if he was a peanut Farmer? What, peanut farmers, or farmers just aren’t smart enough? Left think if you ask me. Carter is a turd, a dictator loving idiotic turd, no matter where he came from, what he used to do, or what he does.

I accuse Jimmy Carter of torture. Every mention of his name in the news is torturing me, and many others as well.

He is a constant reminder of the “roaring” 70s, a forgettable decade.

Hous’ about we paint “Mohammed Eats Jimmy Dean’s” on Carter’s flaccid fanny and drop him off in downtown Mecca? Then he can tell us, first hand, how understanding the islamist-in-the-street really is, depending on whether the parts we get back are still attached, one to the other...

I like what the Americans said about Benedict Arnold to his face-—

“The British never really trusted Arnold, although he saw some action in the American theater. In December, under orders from Clinton, Arnold led a force of 1,600 troops into Virginia and captured Richmond, cutting off the major artery of material to the southern colonial effort. It is said that Arnold asked an officer he had taken captive about what the Americans would do if they captured Arnold, and the captain is said to have replied “Cut off your right leg, bury it with full military honors, and then hang the rest of you on a gibbet.”

I hear a lot of people say that. I believe there will be a very long line. If I was President and he died, I would NOT attend his funeral. I would just state, "An utterly evil being has died. It is a day to rejoice." I absolutely despise everything about that vile slimbag.

Jimmah should know about torture. During his miserable failure of an administration every family farmer in America was tortured. They were drowned in debt by his record high interest rates. It certainly sounds worse than water boarding to me. With water boarding no one dies. During the Carter years farmers lost their heritage. A fate nearly as bad as death. Do I even have to mention his record on standing up for our hostages. Thank God for Ronald Reagan and his love for the American people.

Oh Jimmy, let’s see what you did that was good. Interest rater were at 20%. Gold soared to over $ 800.00 oz. Silver went through the roof.

I wish Ex Presidents would sign an agreement at the end of their terms in office, To not make any Public Statements, about anything. If they do they forfeit their pension and all of the perks..

I wish Jim would spend more time in Africa, they know how to handle him, they just tell him ( Jimmy get Lost)

Jimmy Carter is against torture, but is he against my torture at having to be constantly reminded that he was actually elected President? Yes, yes, of course, it was a big mistake, but he did serve long enough to disgrace and embarrass all of us. Not to mention what he did the the economy and to our hopefullness for the future! Clearly, Jimmy Carter was the single worst president ever elected in this country! Now, instead of quietly fading away, he continues to put his face in my face over and over again! Now, that is real torture! If he was sincere about ending torture, he would go away, never, never to return again! But, of course, he’s Jimmy Carter, the gift that keeps on taking!

I too remember the Carter years. Let me see... do I trust my last bit of gas to get me 30 miles home or do I take a chance of burning it trying to find a station with gas? I could buy a more efficient car, but the interest rate is around 21%, so that’s out.

The ultimate slap in the face was when my daughter said a couple years ago that Carter was probably her favorite president she could remember because he was so nice and worked with the Habitat for Humanity...Oh Boy did that set me off.

It's been an 'unwritten' agreement forever.

To my knowledge the only 2 ex-Presidents to break the unwritten rule are Carter and Clinton.
Speaks to their character doesn't it.

Jimmy Carter, Midwife to Islamofascism, should shut his mouth. Every time he opens it I get memories rushing back of no ammo for the range, lines of trucks, tanks and APC's unserviceable because they were scavenged for parts and the bad taste of watching my fellow citizens marched around like dogs on a rope for a year while we sat on our bases doing jackcrap.

Patooey.
