On Sunday, September 30, Kiera McCaffrey, director of communications, the Catholic League, will appear on the Fox News Channel to discuss Miller Brewing sponsoring the Folsom Street Fair, a yearly gay celebration.
For more info, go here http://www.catholicleague.org/
Jeeeze—there’s LOTS of good beers our there these days. Why bother with Miller’s Pi$$?
Maybe that's why they are sponsoring a gay event?

Thanks-—nice contribution to the thread.
I am a Fort Worth resident (where most of this garbage is thrown together).
It’s all CRAP.
Of course, if I drink beer, it will only be a Guinness (and then preferably fresh).
;^)
Good taste there Mrs. Z . . .
And I agree it is mainly crap, although I have been sucked into the marketing for Ice House and somehow ended up with that in my hand at a party or restaraunt or something.
No more.
Did you notice this though!
This would really hurt them:
” We are also one of the largest bottlers of Coca-Cola products in the world.”
: )
Now that’s something that will really get those sums of britches . . . cause that is something that most of us Christian folk suck down. Good old Coca-Cola. Let’s see if we can get Coca-Cola to cancel their bottling contracts with Miller.
“Ice House”
ouch!
You know the real definition of an alcoholic?
Someone who can’t patiently wait, no matter how long it takes, for something decent to be offered.
Two words:
Fat Tire! (the beer brand, not the effect)
I’m the kind of guy that can’t buy a case of beer because it sits around so long that I throw it out because I’m worried it’s not fresh enough to offer guests. Yet, nonetheless I have drank an Ice House. You would think that would make me an alcoholic by your definition and yet . . .
Use it for “cheese-beer soup.”
-melt one pound Velvetta in 12-16 ounces of beer
-add steamed veggies if wife wants to make the dish have redeeming food value
;^) yum

Try Rahr which is brewed in Fort Worth. They’ve won awards for some of their brews and have free tastings on Saturdays. The couple that owns the place are great folks. rahrbrewing.com
Goodbye Lienies. No more for me.

cold, very cold...and funny
I’ve watched this for a few days now and haven’t seen my question addressed in any of the coverage or discussions. Maybe someone here knows. Is this event being sponsored by the brewery or by the local distributor. I happen to work for a distributor and I know that we call the shots on local ads. Ours are normally things like the Mardi Gras or Rice Festivals, but then we don’t live in an area like San Francisco, where what is so offensive to the rest of us seems like normal life.
My only regret is that I will no longer be drinking the occasional cold Icehouse in a bottle.
"Miller's Tail"
Ah, Vitamin G...
Oops, meant to respond to post #4.
Boycotting companies who market to sinners does not, in the long run, make sense - American capitalism is based on marketing legal goods to whomever will buy them.
People are free to do it but I suspect the Catholic league and the AFA and the CWA have other motives than doing good.
And yes the picture is clearly offensive, but that’s not the point.
Your answer is in this post. Note, however, that this is not the first time the Miller suits in Milwaukee have used the local distributor excuse.

This is their page on this topic.
But some of the pictures are very NSFW people should use caution before clicking.

They seem to be using the sin to raise money, as nearly as I can figure. They cannot possibly expect corporations to not try to sell beer to adults who drink beer.
No question-—corporations should market products-—in this case, market beer to adults who drink beer.
However, IT’S THE WAY they market that is the issue.
People offended by ads should speak out and try to get changes made.
“Though most corporate interest in the gay market materialized in just the last few years, No. 2 US brewer Miller Brewing Co. has had a fearless presence at San Francisco gay pride events and the leather-oriented Folsom Street Fair since the 1970s.”

Miller won’t back off from supporting the homosexual agenda. They’ve been at it 30 years so far.
But they can certainly be smacked down for open display of antiChristian bigotry.
Such as?
>>No question-corporations should market products-in this case, market beer to adults who drink beer.

Agreed. I’ve written to several companies about their advertising and I even boycott an entire year of my favorite TV show -South Park- because of the Virgin Mary episode.
But in this case Miller didn’t have anything to do with the offensive picture. They are just trying to sell beer to the people who did something offensive.
BTW, I looked at the link above about Miller’s advertising. Its amazing to look at Logo’s advertising. They describe it as Viacom’s 24 hour gay bi lesbian transexual channel but the advertisers are pretty much the same big companies as all the main networks.
Silence is approval---Miller Brewing should have voiced disapproval----ads that offend people of faith should not be tolerated.
>><.....in this case Miller didnt have anything to do with the offensive picture. They are just trying to sell beer to the people who did something offensive.....
Like I criticized Nancy Pelosi above, once you comment on the situation at all, you should say the picture is offensive.
I don’t expect every sponsor to speak about everything offensive done at events they sponsor. There is so much, just on TV, that is offensive it would be a full time job for television advertisers.
What I would expect as a more reasonable course for Miller is to not sponsor this particular event next year.
Let me see... There are several beers that aren’t in that list I would consider to be far superior to anything Miller puts out - namely:
Beamish
Dos Equis
Negro Modello
Grolsch
Sprecher Bavarian
and of course...
Guinness
There is only one talk radio and they carry mostly liberal left wing kook crap.
At night they have a show that is hosted by a homosexual guy with a voice that sounds like a very effeminate woman.
Last night this guy was really bashing the homosexuals in San Fransicko for their choice of advertisements for the street festival.
He or It stated that the poster depicting the last supper sets homos back years and lends critics ammunition for calling them perverts.
It taste somewhere close to a Corona.
Brutal Fruits, Frisco, Fusion Banana, LECH Lite, Chibuku Shake-Shake,Poker, Leinenkugels Big Butt Doppelbock, Peroni (not just Bill Clinton's affliction), and Dorada Sin.
So, while I'm pleased I've never bought the Miller product in recent years, ... I will try to make sure I only buy from the Conservative Brewing Company
....now which one is that?
Miller goes best with fudge sickles!!!
See post #15.
Find a small local to throw your $$$ towards.
My husband and I already do that with wine.
All the big producers/distributors are into some of the same nonsense as Miller.
Hey that cheese-beer soup is good advice for old beer!Thank you for the advice.
