The day after the Senate voted to condemn MoveOn.org for its full-page New York Times ad attacking Army Gen. David Petraeus, a coalition of conservative organizations met to plot their next move.
Brad Blakeman, head of the new group Freedoms Watch, proposed another full-page ad in the paper of record. But he suggested taking on a slightly less risky target than an active four-star general: the Iranian president.
Ahmadinejad Is a Terrorist, blared the resulting creation.
It was turned around quickly, landing in reporters in-boxes the evening of Friday, Sept. 21 a good way to get it ignored. Still, it got play on FOX News, CNN and other cable outlets and was a topic of discussion on conservative talk radio, which remains a powerful medium. Not bad for $64,575.

Freedoms Watch is using the Iraq war as an issue to rally around, but has longer-term goals.
Why dont we form a never-ending campaign thats run like a business but managed like a campaign? Well take on generational issues that are unsolvable in any one election cycle, but well seek to influence those issues over time, said Blakeman.

Tom Matzzie, head of the MoveOn-backed anti-war coalition Americans Against Escalation in Iraq, is unimpressed so far.
Every extra minute of TV time talking about Iraq is another drip, drip, drip of bad news for politicians who wont break with Bush. So, thanks, he wrote in an open letter to Fleischer.

Soros is going to find it is tougher to topple the United States than it is to topple some penny ante emerging democracy in Eastern Europe. We fight back.
Soros money is already the kiss of death for any politician. Some politicians just have not figured it out yet. Ari Fleischer and Freedom’s Watch will help drive the lesson home.

Wonder what Hillary looks like in a thong?
(yechy thought)
bump for later
That is the funniest response to a Hillary question I ever seen.
Thanks for making this weekend a joyous one.
That’s enough to gag a dog off a gut wagon.
Kind of like those connected to x42's White House shilling for MoveOn.org and for Her Heinous's campaign? Mr. Matzzie may not want to go there.
I like this idea of taking on large ideas outside of the election cycle; it takes them out of the realm of the politicians and more into the realm of statesmen.
I'm also glad to see Ari involved!
Me too!!!! Thanks for the ping!
