A lib buddy of mine called me and told me to turn on MTV. John Edwards was taking questions from young students. I wasn't but half way paying attention when I heard a young lady ask him something about his solution for inner city crime. Edwards said something like we can't build enough prisons to hold all of the criminals or eventualy there will be no black people left because they would either be in jail or dead. I'm paraphrasing of course and I don't want to start something that's not accurate but if that is what he said that has got to be either one of the most racist or stupidest things I've ever heard a politician say. Did anyone else hear it?
Thanks.
I wish Hillary was that stupid.
What’s most funny is that the brain-dead audience just accept it as gospel, there’s even some little trollip writing notes. Not a single brow raised.
Thanks for the help
Wonderful idea
Thank you
Chill... It’s not as if a Republican said it.
Don’t bet on that! The machine will erase this from the consciousness of the nation, unless someone has some room on a hard drive someplace.
YUP, he said of young black males “pretty soon.... they’re all gonna be in prison, or dead.”
He will try to spin and say he was describing the result of eviiiillll Republican policies, and how terrible American racist society is, but that’s what HE said about the future! He’s toast, crispy burnt toast.
Unfortunately, that will only make the wide open road even easier for Shrillery through the primaries....
I know, the whole audiance is just in a big duh moment that just does not stop! They had no idea let alone a clue of what he just said to them.
It was hyperbole. Not literal. It was meant to make Blacks feel as though if the White power structure had it’s way all Blacks would either be dead or in jail. It wasn’t meant to make it sound like every Black deserved to be dead or in jail, and I wouldn’t take it that way. What’s ridiculous is that Blacks themselves are in positions of power in a lot of places yet we’re supposed to keep on believing that Whites run everything so when anything goes wrong it’s their fault.
Just Wow! So according to Breck Girl, all the black men in America that are not in prison or dead is because they haven’t been caught yet. LoL, that platform may actually help him with the left.
They thought he was great according to the MTV web site.
Amazing
This is nothing more than a botched joke. Nothing to see here.
(sarcasm/off)
Someone rip this link! The only thing accessible is the adbar!
Yes—and poor people are poor because nuclear power plants are polluting the air.
It’s still there as of this moment, I can get to it - but I can’t rip it, somebody help!
On second viewing... I heard this differently.
I heard him say that IF the only proposed solution to the inner-city crime problem is to build more prisons, then all young African Americans will either be dead or in prison—that OTHER solutions are required (universal healthcare, yadiyadiya...)
Granted, he said it in a way that could be used against him, but I think it may bite those in the rear that try to do so.
Guess it’s time to ping Paul Shanklin.
Silky Pony bump.
“just heard it ..thanks for the link
has anyone sent this to michelle or to fox?”
I just emailed it to Laura Ingraham and Glen Beck.
Wow
Yes, we have to preserve this before MTV takes it down.
I am not hearing “if” in there.
Thanks, Admin, for updating the title thread. :^)
Nice work!! What a maroon that Edwards is. Of course, he’ll just say he was speaking hypothetically, more believable by the sheeple than if a Republican had said the same thing.
yeah you...thanks
Ah, you just beat me to that.
send it to Drudge...
Countdown to Drudge...

The Des Moines Red Star is even piling on:

Oh yes. If it was how it sounded to you, then I'm sure it's making its way through the 'war room' press cycle as we speak. Emails, phone calls, and faxes will be going out before the end of the night.
The larger of the little green-roofed "bumps" between the mansion and the stables is basically my entire house.
I wonder if he uses that to house the poverty stricken in his neighborhood?
Well he definitely started from “we cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem” — but that IMPLIES that no matter how many prisons we build ALL black males will commit crimes until “they’re all gonna be in prison, or dead” (his words). I see what you are saying, and that’s what he will say he meant, BUT the fact remains that the implication of HIS OWN words are that ALL black males are potential and likely criminals and that in the course we are on as a society ALL black males will end up in prison, or dead. He may spin and try to say he’s only describing evilllll Amerika and evilllll Republican policies (which on crime have been supported by many Democrats and a large majority of Americans), but his words are still very embarrassing for him and the Demagogues (and rightly so).
Check post 31 if you haven’t heard it yet.
I believe he is his own worst nightmare.
He's a dem. All he has to do is say it was a joke gone bad. No harm intended.
Well done, Lil Bro, your Buckhead Moment has come.
Bump.
Thanks for the link!
maybe he’ll sue himself for that remark...
You have saved the world from a Breck Girl administration..... oh, wait, there wasn’t much chance of that before..... well you STILL did a great thing to help expose the Pandercrats and the stupid things they really think.
About 4 seconds after he said it, he paused. He knows what he said but, he spun out of it and the crowd was to dim to know the difference.
Yeah, that’s pretty bad. LOL
I’m sure that’s not what his thinking was, but it sure as hell came out that way, and he DID say it with such conviction. ;^)
He doesn’t say “if” and his phraseology is awkward.
But the question was... “what will you do to help eliminate inner city kids partaking in crime...”
And he says “... You start with the President of the United States saying to America we cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem and the idea that we’re gonna just keep incarcerating and keep incarcerating - pretty soon we’re not gonna have an African American population - they’re all gonna be in prison, or dead.”
Yes, of course it also exposes the kind of hyperventilating extremes that the Demagogues go to much too often. If he had simply said “TOO MANY young black males are in prison” that would have been more understandable (but then the question is, are significant numbers of INNOCENT black men in prison? No one has offered any credible evidence that is the cast). Even then, he completely ignored any actual individual responsibility for criminal behavior. He immediately blamed everything on American society. Sorry, Breck Girl, I am not responsible for ANY criminal behavior by anyone. People have to take responsibility for their own failings. Do blacks (and whites, and all races) have a tougher road if they grow up in bad neighborhoods, with bad influences, etc.?? OF course. But crime is crime, and everyone learns from a young age what is against the law. Those who choose to commit crimes, of whatever race, gender, etc. still should face the consequences of their acts. Edwards spoke as though there is NEVER any individual responsibility, as though everything is society’s fault. For THAT he should also be righteously grilled to a crisp.
But he was talking about the inner city. I interpreted it that the gangs and violent crime are so bad that, absent some action other than building prisons, the bad guys will end up in jail and the good guys will be killed in gang wars.
He then goes on to suggest various (leftist) methods to solve the problems.
Just my interpretation of what I heard.
ooops, my #92 was supposed to be a response to your posting of the video link at #31
Went to a local gun show a while back, and some guy had a booth selling DVDs of old TV shows and movies that are now considered politically incorrect. He had "Song of the South," old "Amos 'n Andy" episodes, etc.
Yet another reason for libs to want to ban gun shows, I guess.
