WASHINGTON — Democratic lawmakers persisted Thursday in their efforts to persuade President Bush to set aside his veto threat of a large spending increase for a children's health insurance program.

The Senate is expected later in the day to vote for a $35 billion increase in funding for the State Children's Health Insurance Program, a federal-state partnership that subsidizes health coverage for low-income families.

“Children” (up to age 21) from “poor” (up to 82,000 income) families.

Socialists are so dishonest. But, they do know we wouldn’t put up with their crap if they were honest about what they want to do.

one step close to “free” healthcare for all. Hey, want a good laugh? Ask any liberal how it’s “free” when taxes will have to be raised to fund it...and watch them trip over their answer.

My mother in law says “oh, the money’s out there”.

Yeah, I say, it belongs to the people who earned it.

The concept is like explaining color to the blind.

You are right. Socialists are dishonest, but I truly did not think that any Republicans were socialists until this bill.

Interesting. So the Dems think that $82K is poor, but Obama thinks that $96K is “rich” and should be taxed more.

I truly did not think that any Republicans were socialists until this bill.

For the pubbies, this bill helps make sure their benefactors (big donors at health care organizations) get paid. Ever look at the ratio of health care lobbyists to the number of senators- it's astronomical. Yep, there was something for everyone in this bill. Remember, "it's for the children."

This bill is truly a steaming pile of SCHIP.

Oh that is funny! 82K is poor, but 96K is rich. Our middle class is now from 83K to 95K. I guess that is why they call it the dwindling middle class...lol.

If it moves, tax it,

if it keeps moving, regulate it,

if it stops moving, subsidize it.
