Boulder High School students are planning a protest against the Pledge of Allegiance in the courtyard of their school tomorrow morning. Students with the activist club "Student Worker" organized the protest for 8:30 a.m., when the pledge is recited over the intercom. They're concerned that it takes away from school time and that the phrase "one nation, under God" violates the separation of church and state, club President Emma Martens wrote in an e-mail. "Boulder High has a highly diverse population, not all of whom believe in God, or One God," she wrote. She said the group would rather the school hold the recitation which the school must make available by state law during lunch break, or at another time when students who don't participate wouldn't have to listen to it.

Student Worker?
Student Worker?
Student Worker?
Student Wankers is more like it.....
I can’t see a problem with them not pledging their allegiance if they don’t want to.
Have they said when they plan to leave the US?
Their work consists of playing video games, skateboarding and smoking pot with their buddies.
ROTFL! Yes, a whole 10 seconds (I timed it). That's a stupid argument even for liberals.
They already have. Its called the People’s Republic of Boulder Colorado.
I see 15 minutes of fame for these little twerps, although they are envisioning their world tour at this very moment.
My guess is that what the “activist club ‘Student Worker’” actually objects to is use of the term “one nation” - period.
Maybe I’ll head down the street tomorrow, say around 8:30? Anybody else want to go?
What was that moonbat’s name, Nie?
Without question the little twerps are the toast of the town in Boulder today.
Well then... don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
The damned communist school systems brainwashing our children.
Modern American public schools are nothing but Marxist Madrassas!
I believe the SC chickened out, as usual, on the tough issues.
They ruled that Nie didn’t have standing for the case, they did not rule against the idea of taking out “under God” from the pledge.
“They’re concerned that it takes away from school time.”
Haha. They do have important things to do in school:
BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS
‘Have sex, do drugs,’ speaker tells students
‘Men with men, women and women, whatever combination you would like’

A guest speaker at an assembly at Boulder High School in Colorado has told students as young as 14 to go have sex and use drugs, prompting school officials to say they will investigate.
The instructions came from Joel Becker, an associate clinical professor of psychology at the University of California at Los Angeles.
“I am going to encourage you to have sex and encourage you to use drugs appropriately,” Becker said during his appearance at the school as part of a recent panel sponsored by the University of Colorado’s Conference on World Affairs.

I don’t know but the libs in Boulder are smarter then those dead white males that wrote the Constitution 200 yrs ago. I am sure the school will encourage or condone this behavior vs. require them to stand for the Pledge of Allegience.
Student Worker?
That really says it all, doesn’t it?
This pompous buffoon is laying the groundwork to run for mayor of San Francisco.
Emma,
I wouldn’t mind living in a country where I don’t have to listen to you. Especially at lunchtime.
Student Workers? The Marxists are organizing in Colorado high schools now? Wonder who the staff “adviser” to this group is.

“Student Worker?
That really says it all, doesnt it?”
Yeah, i wonder if they receive funds from Chavez or North Korea...
They have been convinced that the words "under God" violates the separation clause. The "separation clause" comes from a discussion in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson, who never meant it in the way it has been characterized by the left. I would bet they also know nothing about Jefferson--except, maybe, he held slaves, so should be expunged ferom American history.
So their community is diverse; so some of them don't believe in God. They think they have a constitutional right not to be offended; ergo, they are trying to stomp on other people's rights. It is time for the gubmint (congresscritters)to grow some brass appendages and cut off funds to some of these schools, starting with Col. U. right down to Boulder HS. Let their parents pay for their schooling.

Youth Speak Out Against War, Recruitment
Winter 2004/2005
Some 85 students opposed to the war and disturbed by the general direction of American life occupied Boulder High School in Colorado Nov. 4, before peacefully leaving the next morning.
The students told reporters they were disgusted with the Bush administration's policies, particularly the war on Iraq, the national debt, the environment, military recruitment in the schools, and the possible return of the draft.
The students, who belong to the "Student Worker" group at the school...told the media the action had been planned before the election. They had brought sleeping bags and clothes to last through the weekend. Clearly, however, the election results deepened their anger and anxiety. Brian Martens, a high school senior, told reporters, "We want them to reassure us that our fears are misguided and that the government is doing everything in its power to prevent our futures from being destroyed."...
Seven Rostovsky said the protest was meant to get adults to listen to students' opinions "by letting people know that adolescents are there and by saying, 'We're not going to take this.'.. David Walsh A longer version of this article appears at the World Socialist Web Site, www.wsws.org
‘They already have. Its called the Peoples Republic of Boulder Colorado.’
Ahh! We have one of those in England called Bethnal Green and Bow. It’s largely inhabited by immigrants who don’t speak English and hence keep voting George Galloway into parliament. . . . . :(
They don’t have to recite the pledge, they don’t even have to listen to it..............in a private school. Bolder is like this though. Socialists.
Cert Denied is somewhat a ruling. Nie tried again with some other angle, I forget what, and I don't think it got past the 9th Circus.
Didn’t they get the memo? The Pledge of Allegiance was written by Francis Bellamy, a socialist.
“Student Worker?”
I have seen a number of folks complain about calling employees “workers” because “worker” is the hijacked PC name for “Communist” now.
“Student Communist” is what they mean but they know it sounds bad.
Where are the parents?
Maybe they’d prefer ‘proles’?
Marxists run our education system, and they have plenty of Dim Wit government teachers to play the role of Useful Idiot.
I am perplexed and frustrated. The American people are unaware that we are fighting a philosophical civil war against the Marxists who have infiltrated every level of government, our bureaucracies, and especially our educational system.
We can survive a nuclear suit case bomb, but freedom will not survive if the Marxists and Dim Wit government teachers succeed in indoctrinating the next generation of voters.
Government schools are the Marxists´ most effective and important weapon, and Sean and Rush rarely mention government education and seldom even use the word Marxist.
We MUST work to shut down all government K-12 schools and work tirelessly to reform or shut down Marxist dominated colleges and universities.
Let’s take up a collection to send the poor little abused commie baby to Cuba or North Korea for an extended visit. Maybe a stop in Saudi Arab or some other fun loving ME country, just to round out her trip. Heck, lets send all her buddies from her little club along as well. Oh, and don’t forget the Che t-shirts. Cant go anywhere without those.
Since she doesn’t seem to like it here, let’s send her elsewhere. I’m in for $5.
(But Momsie & Popsie are so very proud of their little commie)
Young idiots. You really have to blame the parents for not raising them with values.
Been there. They like to shock in order to get them the attention they crave.
Why aren’t they in class? Thought they revered class time.
Just when I thought I’ve seen it all....
Little T^%Ds ,like these, have finally swayed me,BRING BACK THE DRAFT!Not for anything like sacrifice, learning,or character building.Heck no!They just need a good whipin’ by a dedicated HardA$$ D.I.,march the little rats up a couple of mountains, make em’ cut up a wall of potatoes likes Beetle Bailey, and set’em on the border to pass out flyers to their fellow travelers(at attention,in the sun, in the best Beau Geste manner). They’ll be to damn tired to organize student protests and have sit-ins and talk about each others feeeelings when they are beggin’ to get a second wind.
“Seven Rostovsky”
Hmmm. Is that first name actually `Stepan’ or `Semyon’?
Rostovskii... a native of Rostov.
Vse ochen russki, IMHO.
the first amendment gives them the right to say that they do not want to recite the plegde of allegiance, it does not give them the right to prevent others from saying it.

Maybe they need to take a trip on over there to Eyeran and say their pledge of allegiance? I am sure those purdy Colorado gals would just luv the female dress code and equal rights. And the guys would luv the sports opportunities like hunting bait and fishing with heads.
I doubt any of those kids have WORKED a day in their life.
And where is that written, that separation of church and state thingy?
