CARBONDALE, Pa. - Authorities said a man wearing nothing but a hat tried to rob a convenience store in Carbondale. Police say the 24-year-old man charged in last month's robbery attempt often stands naked in front of the window of his apartment.
He was first arrested on an accusation of exposing himself to two women at his apartment building. Carbondale Police Sgt. Thomas Heller says the man ultimately confessed to being the one who tried to rob the store and said he did so because he was bored.
The clerk at the store kept her cool during last month's robbery attempt. She refused to give the man money and dialed 911. The man left, still undressed, without getting any cash.
Even if he had gotten cash, where would he have put it?
Do convenience stores in Pennsylvania sell clothes normally?
It’s not a surprise that something like this would happen in Carbondale...
Under his hat probably.
Bored and stroked.
Not much of a disguise.
At least they can’t nail him for having a concealed weapon.
This is the type of guy that Hillary Clinton is trying to get the votes of. :D
He could have had a concealed weapon.
But you know what I was wearing the last time I was there...
I guess he wasn’t hiding a weapon.
Well...it’d make for an interesting opening scene, I suppose!

Was he wearing the hat on his head?
Now I know what I want to be for Halloween (fully dressed, of course).
By “Convenience Store” do they actually mean “Liquor Store?”
He may have intended to stop being merely bored and naked and instead become bored, naked and drunk.
Which really makes perfect sense, when you think about it.
I was at a skinhead riot once there.
Lunatics all over the place.
It's been 21 years since I moved to FL ... but in PA the laws used to be ... one can only buy liquor and wine in a 'State Store'. Carry-out beer is only sold in bars and beer distributorships. No type of booze at convenience stores whatsoever.
He probably won't be bored anymore.
Guy will be a big hit in the slammer.
He may get really bored in prison. LOL
In Pennsylvania, you can’t buy beer in a convenience store. Tastykakes, yes. But no alcohol.

Somehow a bored, naked guy looking for booze seems less creepy than a bored naked guy looking for Tastykakes.
“Authorities said a man wearing nothing but a hat”
Lemme guess, Eagles hat?
you can buy it in a pizza place tho’
Why am I not surprised to find YOU on this thread? :)
"Don't bring a knife to a gun fight."

But, but, but.... he wasn't naked...
I'm satisfied.
The perp was armed with a dead weapon.....
Why did you have to post THAT picture............ ;-)

| A 24-year-old Carbondale man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly robbing a convenience store in the nude last month. In Lackawanna County Central Court, Carl Wagner, 8 Salem Ave., wore a black, long-sleeve T-shirt under a grey shirt, carpenter pants and sneakers when he appeared before Magisterial District Judge John P. Pesota. He is charged with robbery, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. On Aug. 29, he allegedly walked into Turkey Hill Minit Market, 8 River St., in the buff and demanded money, but left empty handed, according to Carbondale police. Police did not apprehend him that night, but caught a break two weeks later when responding to a report of a naked man standing in a doorway on Salem Avenue. When arriving on the scene Sept. 12, the officers discovered Mr. Wagner in the nude and took him into custody. During questioning, Detective Sgt. Thomas Heller told Mr. Wagner he recognized him from surveillance video of the Turkey Hill robbery and asked him why he would do something so bizarre; Mr. Wagner stated he was bored, according to the arrest affidavit. It is not the first time Mr. Wagner has been in trouble with the law, court records reveal. He pleaded guilty to indecent assault in 2001, indecent exposure in 2003 and simple assault in 2005. "This is an ongoing problem and I hope there are not other victims," Sgt. Heller said. "This is probably the fifth incident (with Mr. Wagner) in the city we've dealt with. I think he needs some kind of help." Mr. Wagner is at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. Carbondale police ask if anyone had a similar incident with Mr. Wagner to contact them at 282-6211. While it’s not the norm, there are some convenience stores that have a liquor license (to sell beer only), but they are few and far between.
“Was he wearing the hat on his head?”
LOL, good question!
