A laptop computer deputies found when they pulled over two University of South Florida students in South Carolina contained a video made by one of the men showing how to use a toy to detonate a bomb remotely, a federal prosecutor said Friday.
On that video, the student, Ahmed Mohamed, said the detonator could "save one who wants to be a martyr for another day, another battle," ...
The prosecutor said that video was posted by Mohamed on YouTube...
Also on the laptop were "jihadi" images and footage of rockets used by Hamas...
Hoffer disclosed the computer evidence Friday as he laid out the prosecution's case that Megahed should be denied bail because he is a danger to the community and a flight risk.
Both defendants are Egyptian citizens. Megahed is a legal, permanent resident of the Unites States, and Mohamed is here on a student visa.
Hoffer said that when deputies in South Carolina pulled the pair over for speeding on Aug. 4, they saw Megahed, who was the passenger, trying to put away the laptop computer that belonged to Mohamed. When investigators analyzed the computer, they found that the last-viewed images showed Qassam rockets, which are used by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad....
In the trunk, deputies found four small sections of PVC pipe, at least three of which were stuffed with a "potassium nitrate explosive mixture" of potassium nitrate, Karo syrup and kitty litter...
"Obviously, that raised the hackles of law enforcement in South Carolina," Hoffer said. "That's why we're here."
Both men are charged with transporting explosives without a permit, relating to the stuffed PVC pipes deputies have described as pipe bombs.

Just kids with firecrackers.
Yeah, right.
Just an accidental coincidence they are Muslim males, age 18-40.
(I can’t remember the exact age-range from that “test” about “what
sort of people are terrorists”)
Kitty litter? I knew my kittie was up to something!
Is Karo syrup an active agent?
Much more of this nonsense and those who were in fear of the “perfect day” scenario are going to be demanding local officials allow armed dads to patrol the schools.
In a secretly recorded conversation between Megahed and Mohamed while they were in the back of a patrol car during their arrest, Hoffer said Megahed “asked Mr. Mohamed pointedly, ‘What did you tell them about the gas canister?’”
Hoffer also told the judge that a laptop computer found inside the car had been used to visit Web sites about “rifles, weaponry, about the conflict in the Middle East, jihadists.”
He said the last video viewed was of a rocket being fired, similar to “part of jihad armory ... weapons used in the Middle East.”
Another video, which Mohamed has acknowledged he made, shows “how to turn a radio controlled car into a detonator that could be used for an explosive,”

Just kids with firecrackers:
potassium nitrate, Karo syrup and kitty litter...
.
That and the kitty litter must be because the potassium nitrate is the oxidizer. Right? I think they are leaving something out. I bet the Karo is the binding agent and they can wet the kitty litter to plug the ends. Turns into a hard clay.
IIRC it is a binder for the other granular or powdered ingredients. At least that is what hezballah uses syrup for in it’s Quassam (?) rockets.
Stick them in a bomb proof room and detontate their materials. No cost to the taxpayer and they get 72 virgins each. Nice and swift retribution.
I can see it now. Megahed and Mohamed strap a "therapeutic device" suicide belt on the Down syndrome brother and then detonate it remotely!
Hypocrites!
Reminds me of "Sharia Compliant Finance." The deal here is that the Grand Poobah prohibits charging interest. So a whole industry has sprung up to engineer interest payments but call them lease purchases and such; and to have the whole ordeal "blessed" by cleric.
Hypocrites!
Needless to say, Wall Street is all over it.

Megahed?
"Megadeath" was already taken.
Capital punishment.
Thanks george.
You need to take another look at Terminator, as they go shopping and makinf their way to the cabin.
lol
“Megadeath” was already taken.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said there was no immediate threat after a portion of St. James Avenue, U.S. Highway 176, in Goose Creek was shut down for hours Saturday evening.

CAIR rushed to declare these men innocent victims of bigoted profiling. They’ve since changed their tune but they spoke to soon.
send them to prison for the rest of their lives or sent them to Saudi Arabia for the rest of what will be their very short lives.
A Perfect Day is a very real possibility.
Search 'beslan' images for what the Chechen's perfect day looked like.
protecting the rights of the guilty ?
Megahed and Mohamed strap a ... suicide belt on the Down syndrome brother and then detonate it remotely!
She agrees that he "poses a danger" but she just doesn't know what kind of danger. Maybe a danger of being in front of a dingbat.
Hell, it would be a fabulous idea, but you know the bureacratic imperitive. The educational administrators would rather the schools burn down taking everyone in them, than allow an armed father on the campus who might just see something said bureacrats could be held accountable for.
The families say they are such nice boys.
Until the introduction of Karo corn syrups, the American housewife carried her syrup jug "to the grocery store to be refilled from the grocers barrels of syrup.

Oh, and a university professor had nice things to say about them.
Yes.

“he is a danger to the community and a flight risk.”
Every Moslem is a “flight risk”, if you know what I mean.
ping....
new info on those nice Florida boys traveling north.
Oh, come off it. Just like the hysterics here over whether the FBI claimed there was "no link" to terrorism . . . that proved to be completely false.
It is getting out of hand.
