I think they would view it as an end to a means. If goading us into destroying Medina and Mecca ignited the Holy War they want, yes, they would sacrifice their holy sites...I think they would sacrifice anything to get the Christian world at war with Muslims.
Spread the rumor that thousands of Christians are planning on holding prayer meetings and handing out Bibles in each middle school in the country and I'll wager no school will go unprotected...
I don’t get much of a chance to listen to Beck, but I did hear his radio show where he was discussing the TV specials.
One interesting thing he is going to cover is what to do in case of an attack. He mentioned on the radio if you hear your kid’s school is under attack, do what the authorities tell you and don’t go to the school as there is some thought that the groups gathered outside would also be targeted.
But on the other hand, in the way of knowledge being akin to preparation, he mentioned if you hear of an attack on a school in one part of the country, don’t assume it will be an isolated event...go to your school immediately and check out your child because you wouldn’t know if your school was on the “list” to be attacked (just as on 911, it took 2, then 3, then 4 planes before some folks were willing to believe it was a terrorist attack.) I totally agree with this, it might seem reactionary, but if you have the knowledge ahead of time, why not. It would disrupt the school in the short term but may save you grief in the long term.
They want an established islamic state, defeating christians, is the goal.
Destroying Mecca and Medina would deny any kind of capital for an established islamic state, and since Mohammad basically stayed in the middle east, there wouldn't be to many options for them to turn to (plus it would also make it impossible for the same islamic terrorists to carry out certain practises in accordance to their religion).
I also believe this is why, the terrorists have never tried to blow up or bomb any of their own holy sites and then blame the jewish people or the United States, while in the middle east, the arab population would certainly believe any conspracy theory and security at mecca is quite lax (at best), the fact that the terrorists have not done it, leads me to believe that they view their own religion first, before anything else.
He may be. It doesn't change the nature of the threat, though. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that several coordinated Beslan; shoot even Columbine, style attacks could easily be carried out on US soil by a hand full of shoddily trained apes.
It's not going to happen in rural America where people ride around with rifles in the back of their vehicles. I doubt that it would happen in inner city core schools, where even the students are apt to be armed. It's going to happen in white, predominantly liberal suburbia, where the libs have demonized guns and made the 2nd Amendment taboo.

My church meets at a school. We met in the parking lot the other day to do an off site evening activity. The maintenance lady was there and the door was unlocked. (she may have done it for us but she was off in another area of the school. My thought was that some ne’er do wells could enter the school at will in the early evening and hide out until the attack in the morning.
I’ll need to have a litle chat with her about this.
BTW, my school is small and fully armed.
That's actually pretty easy without putting "armed battalions in front of every school". Problem is that the simple solutions are the ones that the govment has gone through great steps to outlaw.

Fine with me. If they want us to level Mecca and Medina and then work our way down the list of the rest of their cities that’s just fine with me.
Torture and murdering our children on a mass scale goes beyond 9/11.

Thats the thing, it wasn't their own places (Al quada is sunni, and doesn't consider shiites to be muslims).
I could see them bombing a whole lot of religious places, just not their own, they got no problem with someone elses though, shiites, christian, buddhist, or jews.
Then you'll be fighting the war on their terms. I suspect we'd be better off not inflaming a billion muslim army or you'd better have a lot of canned goods and ammunition.
Of course nothing of the sort would happen. Our govt would declare martial law to protect the muzzies among us and the congress would gather to sing god bless america...no.. can't have god. ... america the beautiful.
Our govt. will allow any number of u to be butchered and they will not make any decisive response.
You won't get al Qaida to stand down their Holy War just because you blew up a couple of their sacred sites. They're goal is to rule the world and everything in it.
And after you blow up Mecca and Medina, what are you going to hold over their heads next?

It makes no difference to me, either. If the muslims wish to commit collective suicide that's their business. The ball is in their court, if they want peace then we should give them peace. If they desire war then we should wipe them from the earth.
