If you read all the comments that Osama made (not the video translation)...you will swear that it sounds like Al Gore or John Kerry. The speech doesn’t match up to previous hardline Islamic speeches that he has given. This makes me think that someone in the organization wrote the thing for him. Perhaps that idiot American who converted over...that has shown up on various recent newscasts...just my humble guess...but its not a written product by Osama.
Actually...if I were a active Republican player...I’d take the whole speech...chop it up for 30 second commercials...for next summer’s presidential run. So much of it was Democrat in nature. I would simply have the text and voice running across a dark screen...and reveal the picture of Osama at the end of the commercial. Might shock alot in the homeland how he sounds Democrat.

The thread above makes the case that it is Adam Gadahn, the American traitor, who wrote most of Bin Laden's material. Gadahn is 28yrs old. It sounds like something an immature lefty would write. It comes across to me like a screed of the Symbionese Liberation Army from back in the seventies or assorted other radicals acting out a teenage rebellion.
Gadahn is writing every cliche current in radical circles for his master who would, no doubt, punish him severly if he realized how ridiculous he sounded.

1. OBL has figured out that the left is his ally in the WOT and that they are incredibly gullible (remember, these are the folks that resolutely refused to believe that Joe Stalin was a bad guy, even after the Soviets had denounced Uncle Joe, and thought that Pol Pot was being slandered by Nazi symps).
Try and read what OBL says with moonbat glasses on. Read that way, he doesn't seem like such a bad guy, does he? In fact, he makes a lot of sense. These folks have figured out that the American left will be their "useful idiots" and all they need is a little stroking. The stroking has commenced and it will be at least partly successful.
2. Stroking aside, the real message was pretty explicit, convert or die. That's what our enemy thinks the war is about, even if our leaders still have their fingers in their ears. I don't think that merits giggling about how silly he is. Giggling makes it seem as if we are fighting a cartoon character. If so, he's a cartoon character that killed 3,000 Americans six years ago.
3. Yes, the rhetoric is silly. But folks who believe in that sort of thing control congress and many of our states. So even though it is silly, it has a strange hold on a small majority of our populace. Silly but powerful?
Nothing wrong with his pop’s conversion to Christianity. However, the name change (even considering that Gideon is recognized as an Israelite judge by Christians and Jews alike) seems rather unnecessary.
If he was sincere and not just another version of a left coast weirdo, why does he convert to Christianity AND make his living selling halal (Islamic Kosher) goat meat AND changing his name from the Jewish sounding Pearlman. His conversion has more to do with self hate than love of Christ.

Isn’t it true that according to the Koran, we have been given a choice to convert through this proclamation/message, and they are going to attack us for not heeding?

Immature is a great description. It is also a throwback to all the drivel I used to hear when I was a “child of the sixties”. It is certainly dated if nothing else! If I remember my literature correctly, it is also Kahlil Gabran-esque idealism as well.

david brooks is not quite correct....most of the rhetoric is accurate...but bin laden spoke of lowering taxes....something that will never be spoken or written by a lib/dem!!!!!
Wasn’t there the belief that this video was released early either on purpose or by mistake? Maybe the American traitor released it without permission. Maybe he even faked parts of the audio without permission. If we never hear from that traitor from California again or if he turns up dead, we will know he goofed and his masters were not pleased. And the message sounds like something an American communist converted to Islamofascism would write. And most of it sounds like what you can read any day on any leftist blog.
Any time (rarely) a leftist says something thoughtful and different from the party line, the other leftists want the person fired or silenced. There is not even a hint of a discussion to see if what was said has some truth -- a heretic spoke and must be gotten rid of.
I believe the video was actually obtained and “released” early by US intelligence services, IIRC. That is, Adam the Fruitcake Traitor probably wanted to feel he was making a big splash by releasing it on 9/11, so it was released early to undermine him and make him and the possibly dead, possibly nearly dead OBL look even more ridiculous.

Historically, Muslim conquerors, before attacking a non-muslim city or people, would grandly and publically issue the “call to Islam”, knowing fully that there would be no compliance with this demand. But, having done so, the conqueror was now morally free (by Islamic law, anyway) to slaughter the infidels and leave no survivors.
However, there usually were survivors of Islamic conquests, to be “granted” dhimmi status and be forced to pay the jizyah, or tax to Muslims.
After all, dead infidels pay no taxes.

Bin Laden’s been on DailyKos for years. (Well it sounds like it’s him.)
Everything but Islamic Rule is unacceptable.
I don’t think Bin Laden was ‘stroking’ the left. If you read the transcript very closely, you’ll see a couple of main themes.
First, all of mankind’s unhappiness is the direct result of departing from the Koran.
Second, the war and all the troubles in the world will continue until the world rejects capitalism and democracy and converts to Islaam.
Third, there is the invitation to convert. (You are obviously aware that an attack must be preceeded by such an invitation.)
It’s hard to see this as stroking the left since he also condemns the culture of the left. If he really wanted to stroke the left there would have been a lot more of the kumbaya, live and let left, non-judgemental, can’t we all just get along rhetoric. He does mention some liberal themes (global warming, etc) but he presents Islaam as the only solution. BTW, you really think the left would embrace a 2.5% tax rate?
