That happened to me one evening when I was cooking Szechuan (toasted crushed Szechuan peppercorns, dried red peppers sliced open and seeds removed). Five minutes after, er, doing my business a warm tingle rapidly crescendoed to a sensation impossible to do justice to with the written word.
Somewhere in there I got my fingers coated with oil, went to the bathroom... and ended up blistered! Try explaining that to the wife :>)
