"Si se puede! Si se puede!"
That's what motorists up and down Prince William Parkway heard Sunday at the pro-immigration rally and march.
The rough English translation to the Spanish statement is "Yes, we can," and it was echoed over and over by the several thousand people gathered at the Sean T. Connaughton Community Plaza to protest the anti-illegal immigration resolution passed by the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.

Several more protest rallies and boycotts by these lawbreakers should ensure the passage of strong measures against them in PWC.

On the local DC news this morning, the lawbreakers are much less festive than portrayed in this story.
One angry guy says “We’re here to stay whether they like it or not,” and another says “this law is racist.”

Just more push polling by the “enlightened” media class. As usual it is chocked full of one-sided, emotionally drenched fluff.
As for the media - If they act like your enemy, treat them as your enemy.

Yes, the MJM fawns over them, but these protesters look foolish and aren’t endearing themselves to the general population with their obnoxiousness.
One girl says, “[But] it’s repeating itself right now. It happened with the African-Americans a couple years back. It’s not right how they are doing this.”
I can’t believe that the African-American community is allowing them to compare this to slavery or the civil rights movement. It’s pretty obscene.

DUNCAN HUNTER:
As for the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the nation, Hunter told the crowd, They have to go home.
Fred Thompson:
Youre going to get them all together and get them out of the country, which is not going to happen. Or youre going to have to, in some way, work out a deal where they can have some aspirations of citizenship, but not make it so easy that its unfair to the people waiting in line and abiding by the law.
NO DEALS, NO COMPROMISE, NO EARNED AMNESTY OF ANY KIND FOR ANY ILLEGAL ALIENS.
ILLEGAL, IS ILLEGAL, IS ILLEGAL.

Sadly, this article says nothing about these protestors being opposed by any counter protestors.
IMO, if two thousand illegals take to the streets, they should be opposed by at least double that many American citizens.

It is good they continue to march. They have been doing this for over one year now. And it has not even sunk into their thick, dense skulls that every time they do this, they get even LESS SUPPORT. What DOLTS!!

To: Kimberly GG
With a title like this to the story, this would be akin to such a group IN FAVOR of drunk driving/DUI, called "Drivers for Open Containers On Board", having a rally in FAVOR of DRUNK DRIVING, and then the Manassas News or whomever would entitle the article as:
"DRIVERS RALLY HELD" or "RALLY BY DRIVERS' RIGHTS GROUP HELD"

To: 2ndDivisionVet
Why didn’t the Border Patrol or ICE attend this rally?
The “protesters” should have been marched back to Mexico.
By the way, the title of this thread should be, “Illegal Alien Rally Held.”

Once again, they want to recreate what they left. Mob rule and intimidation. Just what we need here.
To: Nickname
Americans aren't allowed to rally and make demands in Mexico. Why are we putting up with this crap?
Because we have been fed the tripe by our own government that we're "racists" if we don't welcome these aggressive, demanding, entitlement-seeking, welfare-draining invaders into our communities.
If our government giveaway of America goes any further, I smell rebellion, and rightfully so! Our politicians are COWARDS.

Or youre going to have to, in some way, work out a deal where they can have some aspirations of citizenship, but not make it so easy that its unfair to the people waiting in line and abiding by the law.
It's impossible to grant amnesty AND to be fair to those waiting to come here. He's trying to play both sides. Can't be done and I'm not voting for him!

American citizens are used to resorting to mob rule. We believe in the rule of law. Most haven't realized that TPTB are thumbing their noses at our laws.

JG, has anyone put together a synposis of the differences in US and Mexican laws regarding immigrants and immigration?

I understand your feelings...but maybe it's better this way.. their arrogance and obnoxious behavior is doing them in....we can just sit home and watch them sink their own ship....we can retaliate at the voting booth....in polls...and with a barrage of calls to representatives like we did to sink the reform bill....basically the civilized way...:o)

Yes, I’ll try to find it. WE should enforce the same laws Mexico enforces regarding illegal aliens!
To: janetgreen
I think that is a good place to start, if not to remind Mexico of their shortcomings on the immigration issue.

"In school everybody asks, 'why do we learn history?' and the answer is so history won't repeat itself," said Karen, who attends Osbourn Park High School. "[But] it's repeating itself right now. It happened with the African-Americans a couple years back. It's not right how they are doing this. They should stop racism and discrimination. God made us all equal." If we don't stop illegal immigration and send a substantial number of these people home, it next will be "God made us all equal so why should my gringo neighbor have a bigger house than me?"
Samuel Pineda, 37, of Manassas Park, was one of the many volunteers assisting those taking buses to the event. Pineda, who works for a party goods rental company, said the immigrant population has been erroneously criticized as one which doesn't pay taxes.
Hispanic immigrants take more in social programs than they pay in taxes. European immigrants pay more in taxes than they take out.
While the crowd was overwhelmingly Hispanic, there were others showing solidarity for the Hispanic population. One such person was 18-year-old Baltimore resident Nick Powell, who volunteers for the United Workers Association.
Nick is still wet behind the ears. Why should we care what kids think?
