From correspondents in Tehran PRESIDENT Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sought to justify his confidence the US will not attack Iran, saying the proof comes from his mathematical skills as an engineer and faith in God, the press reported today..."In some discussions I told them 'I am an engineer and I am examining the issue. They do not dare wage war against us and I base this on a double proof'," he said in the speech yesterday,...

I’d be amazed if this drooling moron has ever done anything with competence in math or engineering, but even if he once knew something long ago he has since turned into a psychotic bozo. He’s be funny if he were not so depraved and dangerous.

Maths and engineering and logic are all very well, but politics is about people, and people aren’t logical, nor (in any society that functions properly) should they ever become mere numbers.
He may be trying to reassure his people, or more likely himself, but basing policy on these kinds of assumptions is a very dangerous business. I personally believe it would be unwise for the US to attack as well, but I wouldnt bet my life and/or career on it based on mere numbers.

I wonder how good this new Iranian military technology is. I bet most of their claims are BS.

"..Mr Ahmadinejad has long expressed pride in his academic prowess.
He holds a PhD on transport engineering and planning from Tehran's Science and Technology University and is the author several of scientific papers..."
Maybe he could qualify as a Bus Driver trainee or assistant lavatory attendant.

Well, Bush is pretty good at math (Master of Business Administration from Harvard) and has deep faith in God.
Osama was an engineer and is nowhere to be found today.
Saddam didn’t believe he would be attacked and, apparently his calculator was on the fritz that year.
I’d say, Ahmadinejad is using a wrong calculator or the wrong God.

Yes. Other bits of knowledge, including knowledge of geography and recent events can be of help.

We in the USA have 30,000 lb. (13,600 kg) Massive Ordnance Penetrators. We've already gone to the expenses of closely surrounding Iran with all that is needed for putting down its military forces. It would be done--for the most part--before eastern Europe or Asia would wake from a night's sleep.
What do you think will happen?

The deeply religious President said his second reason was: “I believe in what God says
Problem is that his GOD is a false GOD and it ain’t going to help his sorry butt.

Who needs Mathematics? If it agrees with the Koran, it is superfluous, if it disagrees, it is heresy. Burn the Mathematics texts alongside copies of
Playboy and
Cosmopolitan. (OK, Allah willing, retain the
Playboys.)
More evidence that this guy's a twit and they should love him in Cambridge (both England and Massachusetts.)

Maths?
It's an Oxford-ism (British English)--like putting a closing quotation mark before a question mark. ;-)

I'll bet Iminneedofajihad hasn't heard of the "New Math" foisted on Americans by public schools. It's well known that Americans can't do Maths anymore.
But it is interesting that Iminneedofajihad has gone from "I'm going to wipe Israel off the map" to "Maths prove the US isn't going to attack Iran". That's a change in itself.

Ha! ;)
One of my mathematics teachers early on made us write out “Mathematics” in the heading of our papers. He detested the term “math” and thus when I saw it pluralized (pluralised?) it raised the ol’ eyebrows.
