As the President boarded AF1 at Waco today I would assume he and the First Lady spent the weekend in Crawford Texas at their ranch.
Today the President departed for Ottawa, Canada, to attend a two-day summit with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

I could not find a quote for today but there was a Press Gaggle Press Gaggle on the President's Bilateral Meetings with Mexico and Canada by Dan Fisk, Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs, National Security Council Curling Rink Fairmont Le Château Montebello Montebello, Canada

Is the marine OK?
Hi you are first again
That was crazy. I was trying to click on the one above the dose about CA being ready for an earthquake and I got yours instead. Amazing.
I have no idea I just saw the photos and I posted them in hope that someone else may have some more info.
Evening, Snugs.
Thanks for the Canada meeting pix.
Congratulations! About the show with the Mounties was it with Preston Foster? There is another one that my daughter watched called “Due South” What is the story on the Marine ?
Thank you for the Dose . The President looks tanned and relaxed! The pictures of the Mounties are always inpressive.
The Governor General of Canada (I didn't know they had such a thing!) is a lovely lady!
I couldn't find out any other info about the Marine. Hope he is ok. Was it hot there today I wonder?
The pic of GWB with the Sec. Serv. is interesting. I wonder what was going on that GWB was in such a crowd of them. Perhaps it is just the angle of the photo.
My pleasure and nice to know that the mug is being used.
MamaB, are you thinking of Sgt. Preston of the Yukon or Due South...both were series about the Mounties.
I hope W is going to return to Crawford. He was only there for 1 week which is no kind of vacation IMO.
One reason a guard could pass out is locking his knees. When we had parades we always warned the Marines not to lock the knees. Of course he could have been on duty long hours and not had enough to eat..could be all sorts of reasons. Hope the Marine is ok.
HEADS UP:
PRESIDENT BUSH WILL GIVE A SPEECH TO THE VFW ON WEDNESDAY!
Today, Hillary and McCain spoke to the group . . . Most of the leftist media made it appear as though Hillary was as well received as McCain — NOT!
The following is the STRAIGHT scoop:
“McCain, a Republican presidential hopeful, drew loud applause from the same convention of war veterans when he said, “As long as we have a chance to succeed, we must try to succeed.”
Between the candidates’ speeches, Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said in a televised address that American troops and Iraqi military and police have “quite robust” partnerships in some areas and are making progress in fighting insurgents.
All three spoke during the Veterans of Foreign Wars annual convention.
. . . Clinton received a generally friendly welcome at the start, but only a smattering of applause when she said American troops should come home. VFW members responded to most of her remarks about Iraq with polite silence. The hall in which the candidates and Petraeus spoke seated almost 6,000 people, but it was only half full for their remarks.” [The hall will be FULL and rocking on Wednesday for the President!]

TED NUGENT: AGAINST THE EVIL WE FACE, WAR IS THE ANSWER
Seeing what valor looks like, knowing cause is just
By Ted Nugent, Texas Wildman
Toby Keith and I stood at the bedside of Pfc. Todd Bolding of Central Texas.
We were far from home, having just landed via Blackhawk battle copter on the tarmac of Bondsteel U.S. Military Hospital in Germany.
Visiting with wounded heroes of the world’s greatest warriors from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard and Marine Corps, we were deeply humbled not only by the courage of these amazing men and women, but also by their commitment to get their shattered bodies repaired as soon as possible to “grab my rifle and get back to the front lines to fight with my buddies.”
God bless America.
We spent two weeks with these heroes, hanging out, eating, shooting, talking and patrolling. We shared hunting and fishing stories and celebrated the American music that apparently bonded us.
Toby and I did our best to keep a stiff upper lip and a positive attitude as we emotionally dealt with such a sacred time with many warriors with life-threatening injuries. We were moved.

REASONS FOR CHEER
By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY
Economy: In spite of the fright caused by financial markets in recent weeks, a number of indicators show a strong, resilient economy. For that we can thank, above all, President Bush’s tax cuts.

Hi, snugs. Thanx for the pics!
The governor has Laura’s white coat. It’s attractive on her as well.
HEADS UP . . .
NEWS CONFERENCE TOMORROW:
I just checked c-span and discovered that they will broadcast LIVE the President’s news conference with Harper and Calderon at 1:35 ET tomorrow:

AMAZING . . . C-Span is pulling a ‘Bush’ on Hillary; they’re replaying her speech to the VFW (from today) at 5:51 AM ET!
I notice that Hillary’s speech will take 43 minutes, and McCain’s which is on cspan after hers is for 23 minutes. I cannot imagine listening to HRC for 43 minutes unless I was being detained by torturers.
That’s an attractive mug. Thanks for the dose snugs.
The mounties are impressive.
My pleasure
I love how they love the dogs.
Did I miss the Dose ping yesterday ... or maybe there was no Dose yesterday?
Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is gorgeous ....it's billed as the largest log structure in the world, and it looks it. WoW .. huge.

Looks like a wonderful vacation spot.
I’m anxious to see W’s speech before the VFW .. I hope he gets huge ovations, as he has in the past. Obama and Fred Thompson will also be speaking.
There was not a ping yesterday wolfstar had a friend who need assistance and could not prepare a dose.
thank you for the great pix/commentary tonight Eleanor ..and the treat of the pix of little barney w/spot.. sigh, miss that pooch as I know the president does also.
Please all who have been following Gretchen’s death & Carrie(her cousin’s daughter) rehab situation from her serious car accident in Jan, please note the update at the prayer thread with pix. Carrie is/was a gorgeous young woman. For me it always helps to put a face & name together.
We would pray for Carrie if she were as ugly as a warted witch.. but she is a gorgeous gal and her family loves her so & is very much desirous of our prayers & support.
OK .. thanks for letting me know .. how’s Dad feeling?
Isn’t it purty. Glad you’re back safely .. it sounded like a super time. You’re just adorable .. ;)
