It’s got to be more sane than staring at a TV screen. At least on the internet you can be actively involved with what you are watching.

I read it as it only affects 10% of the user. So I’m thinking everything below the neck line is unaffected.

Distinguished Scientist Objects To "Radio Addiction"

Radio addiction should be grouped with extreme addictive disorders such as gambling, sex addiction and kleptomania, a prominent psychiatrist said.

Dr. Elmer Feelgood, Professor of Phrenology at Possum Holler University's East Jesus Springs Campus said 10 percent of listeners to the newfangled "wireless telegraph" are afflicted with "radio addiction disorder," which can lead to anxiety and severe depression.

Radio addiction is classified by mental health professionals as a Humorous Bile Disorder, a mild to severe mental health condition that results in an urge to engage in ritualistic thoughts and behavior, physical self-abuse, and white girls openly dancing with Negroes.

"Radio addiction is not manifesting itself as an ‘urge.’ It’s more than that. It’s a deep ‘craving.’ And if we don’t make the change in the way we classify radio addiction, we won’t be able to treat it in the proper way," Feelgood said Friday in a release to reporters in snap-brim Fedora hats.

He said the two groups at greatest risk from radio addiction disorder are raccoon-coat-wearing, rumble-seat-riding teenagers and excitable immigrants from the dago countries.

"We must stamp out radio addiction." Feelgood asserted. "I intend to petition President Coolidge and my members of Congress for leadership in legislating the number of hours one may listen to radio daily."

My dh says I’m addicted because I don’t watch TV with him for 5 hours every night.

Mrs Bear is glued to the TV every evening. I can’t stand the thing! We make time for stuff we both enjoy. Earlier today we played a Bible Trivia video game on the Playstation.

I’m trying to get her to watch “Gladiator” with me. She’s resisting. I got her hooked on Narnia (we saw the first movie at the theater). I also got her to watch the LOR movies and the X-Men movies.

It’s all about control over the Internet and other people’s lives. Internet addiction is just as phony as porn addiction.

Incrementalism is the key. Get her hooked on YouTube. From there, it's streaming video sites, then torrents. Before she knows it, she'll be spending more time on the computer and less time in front of tube. After that, it's a short leap to FR. :-)

Um...er... I had to stop her from going on line. She went to retail clothing sites. Soon after wards we got some pretty vulgar email from China (sex ads). She used to be a fan of “Charmed.” She went to a fan site and our computer got “hijacked.” At least with the TV the damage potential is relatively low.
