Check it out! The article is in German. Maybe I'll translate it. Or use an online translator. Maybe some German Freeper can translate it.
This article is also featured on many German email sites such as GMX or web.de. Rather good PR for us!
PING
I hope it’s okay to post the original German article. It has yet to be translated.
For Google’s attempt:
Your prior work on Arabic translation appears to be rather admired by this author.
Someone would need a lot of time to translate and retype it where it makes sense.
(my wife could but she's way too busy today)
This is America, speak English or go home.
Schaedenfraude! Or something like that..
What is this supposed to mean?
I am American and (obviously) I speak English. I also understand German and found this German article, which I didn't write. Had no time to translate it to English yet, but I'll try later.
I thought it would be interesting for fellow Freepers to see what the European press has say about us and our work, and this article was rather positive.
If it's not allowed on FR to post articles untranslated a Mod may pull it, or just leave the link.
Perhaps jveritas can help out with filling us in. I missed this and would like to help out.
Thanks for posting ....good to see JV getting some nice press.
Thanks for posting. I’ll wait for a ‘cliff notes’ translation by a Freeper. Probably won’t be long ...
News-Junkies....needs no translation....LOL
Here is my suggestion to you, please do not take this in a bad way, but only in the constructive way I mean it:
If you don’t have time to translate it, then don’t post it until you do have time. That way the 95% of FReepers who aren’t well versed in German may understand it.
Otherwise, you’re really not helping, and instead confusing most folks.
Thanks that helps!
LOGBUCH AL-QAIDA
Large attack on the Cyber-jihad Of Yassin Musharbash On the 19 July, “jveritas” in the internet called in addition to turn off identified of it per-terror-websites. Its idea was simple: To block the hosting firms with abundant trouble-mail dazuzubringen, the sides. And it functioned also - a little. Since a month a small earthquake rules in the dschihadistischen internet. A tight dozen of prominent websites (so far I count can) fell it already to the victim. The Qaida-near forum “the paradise” : until further notice closed. The claim of responsibility dropping side Welt-Nachrichten-Netzwerk” : a Cyber-ruins. The terrorist-blog of the English language “global islamic media front” : no longer existing. Disengaged blog of terror sympathizers: Under new address already again risen large picture view Disengaged blog of terror sympathizers: Under new address already again risen began that mass dead in the second July half. A certain “jveritas” released it with a proclamation on freerepublic. com, a meeting place of internet activists, News-Junkies and how it seems, tightly until to the right of-conservative-US-patriot. “We should try, each well known terrorist-websites to turn off, around a shocking message at the islamic terrorists to send and them a psychological blow to teach”, struck “jveritas” before. Said, done - in the end was the method, that had considered “jveritas”, conceivably simply: Because many of these web pages are hosted by US-American firms, its comrades should burden themselves-in-arms there. To this purpose, it published a list with URLS of per-jihads-websites, in addition proper IP ADDRESSES and the addresses of the providers or Hoster. “Jveritas” formulated even trouble-mails before. It found quickly many helpers who expressed themselves delighted to be able to do even finally once something against terrorist. The forum in which they exchange itself comprises meanwhile 143 sides. After few days, there were first success messages: “Good work! A further side geschlossen!”, was named it about on the 20 July over “the paradise”. Other activists see the initiative as a mistake Over the initiator “jveritas” is not much well known. Does a mail-address it (or it) have? not publishes. But “jveritas” seems the Arabic powerfully to its - in any case were translated under this Web-name already years ago Arabic, terrorbezogene documents out of Iraq into the English. Every American who would understand Arabic, had to help to fight the terrorists, demands “jveritas”. Under its postings stands as a signature: “God would protect our courageous troops and president bush.” There are fight already for years internet-activists, the dschihadistische websites - either, in that it also the providers and Hoster over its customers into the picture set, or in that they turn off the sides through hoes or “Denial of service” -attacks. Of the pioneers on this field, the group “internet Haganah”, harvested the initiative activated by “jveritas” to be sure only a verschnupftes nose hulls: Under the stroke, let the action be a mistake, for it would not be approximately so useful terrorist and terror sympathizers dazubringen to seek other communication ways, that “for us like the (forums) fora”. “Internet Haganah” leads therewith an old debate further: Does one should terror glorifying web pages around every case bekriegen and turn off - use or it as an information source? At least the messages services, on this side of how on the far side of the Atlantic, tend after initial uncertainty meanwhile sooner for the read along. Very so quickly the move in Gefilde to be realized more badly of the internet will not take place to be sure. Until now, shot down terror-web pages rose almost each time again, especially since the important - usually solely under a new address or on a new server. Sites attacked also two by “jveritas” and Konsorten are already again Online. The “large attack” on the Cyber-jihad - only an episode will remain it.
Sorry, but I was so positively surprised by this article that I couldn't hesistate to post it.
As I said a Mod may pull it, if it doesn't have a place here until it's translated.
Meanwhile I ask for your forgiveness.
Use google translate
In other words .....the information conveyed is not really the content of the article....
From the PR point of view, it is very good because it make the terrorists on the internet very afraid that they are not safe and that we are not going to allow them to spread terrorists materials and recruit more terrorists.
I am glad that the media begins to talk about it.
What I understand from the preliminary translation of this article is besides that it talks about what we are doing there is someone else who has a site called the "internet Haganah" who is opposed to the campaign to shut down the terrorist websites. I had my private "heated" discussion with him via e-mails last week and I will talk about it when the time is appropriate. The irony is that the internet Haganah fellow has been doing the same thing for a long time i.e. shutting down the terrorist websites but now he is opposing this action.
“The Internet, with its thousands of extremest websites and chat-rooms, is a virtual incubator of its own. In fact, many of the extremists began their radical conversion while researching or just surfing in the cyber world.”

...thanks to dajjal for the post/ping.
Good grief.
Please see post # 21 by PGalt as he linked to the original thread(s) where we began this effort to shut down the terrorist websites.
Thank you very much for posting this and I am very sorry that some people here are giving you grief over posting this in German.
Got husband to read it to me.
Better to have posted it so the German speakers can take a whack at it. Cut this person a break, fer cryin’ out loud.
Oh please. It’s posted so those who CAN translate it can have a look at it. If you don’t like it, I think you can close the window and read another thread. Or maybe you’d just like to stick around and whine?
I vote for—glad you posted it. Thanks, in fact.
Who needs a translation, we'll flay the terror sympathisten, with much Blog, a little grog and we'll take the Abgeschaltes to the woodshed and spank their little tes tes.
Ok.
Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut. Could you translate it for us?
What the author is saying is that "Internet Haganah" is sniffing their noises at your efforts because they are of the opinion that shutting down the blogs runs the jihadists underground makes them harder to fight. The author poses the rhetorical question if it is better to battle jihadist blogs as you do, or just use them as a source of information as "Internet Haganah" does..
The author's summary says that even though you have managed to bring sites down, they are slowly but surely starting to come back online, so "Internet Haganah" objections are a moot point. He calls it an episode in the online war against the Jihadists.
My impression is that the author admires your efforts, but feels that that that the enemy is very adaptable. He names it an 'episode' in the online war against the Jihadists.
Right. I think the original German made more sense to me than the google translation. And I don't understand German at all.
From one internet activist to another....GREAT JOB
Fish hawk doesn’t speak for others here.
I thank you for posting it.
PreWarDocs, of interst ping.
bump
Thank you.
Fish Hawk speaks for 99 percent of those here is all.
It you think that is true, then you have a case to report this thread to the Admin Moderator.
Why don’t you do that and stop with the tantrum?
Thanks for bringing our attention to it before you did (or could) translate it.
The way Freerepublic works is that it brings articles such as this to the fore so that people can comment on it.
Much better to have a pro-FR german post than another anti-FR english post about something BOR said!
I'd much rather see things like this logged immediately, subsequently translated down-thread, than for you to delay putting it up.
Three cheers for Solidwood. Two jeers for fish and bubbalon.
Big bump.
I’ve seen Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, Polish, Russian and Italian posted here at FR.
Someone always manages to translate them.
I don’t know why this is being trolled.
Fish. Calm down.
You are at a disadvantage because you cannot understand german....that’s your problem.
I know enough german to at least be able to skim this, but not enough to fully translate it.
Thus, I’m glad solidwood put it up.
If you don’t like it, move...along....
LongJack gave us a nice cliff note too.
Why not ban all of the science/tech threads which are also beyond the comprehension of some?
Then we can start on the legal doc type threads. Who here really speaks lawyer?
:)
