Walmart made many conservative walk away

I go to Walmart at least weekly, Sam's at least monthly. I buy only Ford trucks and even stop by Starbucks on the way home. Fox news is not too liberal for me and I sometimes get the French wine. I am the Anti-Freeper!

I can’t stand to even walk in a Walmart, In our little mountain town several mom & pop stores are out of business, groceries and hardware stores that have been in business for many years. For what it’s worth I think the US of A should put a import boycot on all Chinese junk.

“The grocery business that Walmart does have should be credited more to the convenience of one stop shopping and price brainwashing more than anything else.”

I admit that I consider one stop shopping a plus, but what is “price brainwashing” ?

If you associate Wal-Mart with low prices, you assume that every item at the store is low priced relative to other stores, so you buy the tomatoes at Wal-Mart when in reality your local grocer may have a lower price on that particular item.

“He considers this a win-win for him as he will be the only one in town that carries them.Guns are essential in West Texas.”

This is why I love capitalism. If Wal-Mart goes to the dogs, as people seem to be saying, there is usually a good businessman to pick up the slack. I hope he makes a fortune.

Just wait until China revalues their Yuan...all-China Wal-Mart will be crushed overnight.

I read once that you can get a stratocaster made by a mexican in Tijuana, or you can get one made by a mexican in LA, but the one from Mexico is cheaper and uses better paint, which can’t be used here because of the lead.

Lead paint isn’t dangerous unless it chips and children put it in their mouths.

Can you find a store that sells more Chinese goods as a % of their sales than Walmart? Tongue in cheek — but — Do they sell ANYTHING that is not a Chinese manufacture? Walmart is THE store most responsible for this race to the bottom in manufacture that we’ve had.

I don't understand the pro-Hillary/Edwards attitude on these threads.

That's right. Hillary and Edwards run half of their campaign on the same hate-corporations populism that meshes with the local leftist "keep big-box retail" NIMBY that meshes with the "boycott WalMart because they sell the same foreign crap as everyone else."

Where do you buy a TV without some chinese content? You don't.

Oh, and is cheap Taiwanese or Japanese or Malaysian or Singapore crap ok? Or is it just ANY foreign trade is bad? Or is it just trade with "dirty asian" people that's bad?

You don’t have the common sense you were born with anymore. These products are poison and you think that it’s a partisan issue.

I shop at Walmart a couple of times a week, and I’m conservative.

I worked for WM for three months and I have to agree with you.
Anyone who has never worked at that place wouldn’t understand.
I haven’t been shopping at WM since the week before Christmas, and have no intentions of going back. Our store has 32 registers, and on any given day only 3-4 are open. And don’t get me started on the “customer service”.

In my little town there's stores that sell against WalMart. They have small selections and some USA Made stuff, like sprinklers or plumbing fittings. They also sell cheap charlie chinese crap, like rubber garden hose washers. They don't sell USA garden hose washers. What do you want me to do when we boycott china? Cut one out of a piece of leather for crying out loud?

Get real.

I recently took in an old pair of rose clippers back to Sears because they had finally worn out (Craftsman) and they replaced them (made in China) and now they just chew the stems rather than cut - worse than my worn out ones which I should have kept.

If it pissed you off, you need to find more people in your area that are pissed off about no guns at Walmart and have all of them write to your walmart and the corporate headquarters and tell them you’re pissed off about no guns there.

Oh forcryingoutloud.

One, I notice that you call WALMART the "scum" who put these nasty things in your child's grasp. Funny how nothing is YOUR fault for buying the damn things....did you sue McDonalds recently for the cheeseburger???

If all walmart products are really that poison, then you ought to feel terribly guilty for not caring enough about your children to protect them from the big bad walmart.

Two, yes, populist boycotts are a common marxist tactic to rile up the proletariat against the capitalists. Choose your side carefully.

You can buy your child safe toys without trying to destroy the largest American employer.
