I like it. The republicans did not do what we elected them to do and the dems started convincing voters they could so we let them and threw the bums out in the last election to show them our displeasure and to show the world what idiots the dems were and now we can honestly say — it’s working.
Time now to get real Republicans into the primaries and back to the house.
Pretty sad.
No wonder the Rats get along so well with the likes of Castro, Bashir Ahmad and Hugo Chavez.
I’m with ya pal...let’s see more Rs with a backbone! Bring back duelling!
There is not mention of this over @ DU. Wonder why? I figured they would be proud.
Never underestimate the power of, or the entertainment value in a good dueling.
pingeroo
Replaying it on C-Span right now.
DU has a few threads about it. They are laughing their collective butts off.
IMHO, the Dims made a huge mistake in pulling this stunt.
This is another golden opportunity for the Reps if they play their cards right.
Which side are they laughing at?
DU is laughing at the Reps. They , of course see nothing wrong with what Hoyer & the Dims pulled last night.
DUmmies don’t know what they are talking about, let alone laughing about.
That’s what happens when you sell your soul to Satan (Soros, Kos).Greed, discontent, deception, anger, arrogance - welcome to hell, leftist losers!
That’s an example of what the American People should be doing in Congress today.
that is hysterical!
No wonder Congress has an approval rating of minus 80.
I can’t watch it right now. Can someone give me a brief description?
In a massive flare-up of partisan tensions, Republicans walked out on a House vote late Thursday night to protest what they believed to be Democratic maneuvers to reverse an unfavorable outcome for them.
The flap represents a complete breakdown in parliamentary procedure and an unprecedented low for the sometimes bitterly divided chamber.
The rancor erupted shortly before 11 p.m. as Rep. Michael R. McNulty (D-N.Y.) gaveled close the vote on a standard procedural measure with the outcome still in doubt.
Details remain fuzzy, but numerous Republicans argued afterward that they had secured a 215-213 win on their motion to bar undocumented immigrants from receiving any federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance. Democrats, however, argued the measure was deadlocked at 214-214 and failed, members and aides on both sides of the aisle said afterward.
One GOP aide saw McNulty gavel the vote to a close after receiving a signal from his leaders but before reading the official tally. And votes continued to shift even after he closed the roll call - a strange development in itself.
Whatever the final tally, acrimony quickly exploded between lawmakers on either side of the aisle as Democratic leaders tried to plot a solution, while parliamentarians on either side argued over protocol.
Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) eventually offered a motion to reconsider, according to floor staff on either side, ostensibly giving members a chance to recast their votes. But the maneuver sparked a chorus of angry protests from the Republicans, yelling shame on Democrats, while they returned fire with angry volleys of their own.
When Democrats finally moved to consider the spending bill as the last vote of the night, furious Republicans left the chamber en masse to protest the maneuver. The House eventually recessed at 11:18 p.m. But Republicans quickly discovered that there was no longer any record of the controversial vote and immediately charged Democrats with erasing the bad result.
Obviously, the Democrats dont want to stand up against illegal immigration so much so that theyre willing to cheat in order to win a vote, Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) said in an e-mail. Theyre desperate and it shows.
The official House website did not show a record of the vote as of 1 a.m. Friday.
I’m sorry...I shouldn’t be, but watching that made me just LOL! For shame on me! That’s incredible...Can you just see that in our House of Representatives. OMG!
The Republicans are good at playing 52 pickup.
Like a blind man with no hands....
Thank you!

Aye, there's the rub.
I guess even the current crop of RINOs are too smug to moon the Dem Chairman. That makes walking out about as untidy as they can get.
I laughed when I first heard this. The Republicans were upset? Angry?
Why? Did they really expect the Democrats to “play by the rules?” Did they think that bi-partisanship went both ways? Did they assume that the Democrats would bend over and grab the ankles as did the Republicans over the 12 years they [allegedly] controlled Congress?
GET A GRIP Republicans! You play with Democrats, you play hardball or you get knocked out of the game. You expect Liberals to honor your view, or be considerate of your principles, or accept your win, then you’ve lost your mind. You have no CLUE what the nature of Liberalism is.
Never assume the best of Democrats when you get between them and their power. They don’t care about principles, laws or people for them — it’s about THEIR POWER — and they’re gonna keep it or crush you trying to.
LEARN YOUR LESSON REPUBLICANS.

They’re acting like teenagers in a street fight. Sad.
“This is another golden opportunity for the Reps if they play their cards right.”
When have you EVER seen that done?
I honestly cannot remember the Republicans ever playing their cards right.
This is the biggest outrage so far by the out of control insaniac Dems. Are we going to sit by and allow them to turn us into a 5th world country joke?
>>>In a massive flare-up of partisan tensions, Republicans walked out on a House vote late Thursday night to protest what they believed to be Democratic maneuvers to reverse an unfavorable outcome for them.>>>
What the hell kind of a lead is this in a news story? The issue isn’t a flare-up of tension, it’s the outright stealing of votes in Congress. Republicans “believe” this is a Democratic maneuver? I also note that lead is written in the passive voice with enough ambiguity so most people would never see that this is just plain vote fraud.
Now my blood pressure is through the roof. I’m witnessing the destruction of a republic and it’s called a maneuver, according to the belief of some people in a political party? AAAArggggggghhhhh.
Thank you for the explanation.
Well said. Many Republicans are happily living with their heads in the sand. Maybe not all—but certainly enough—Democrats are every bit as ruthless as the hardest Kommissar who ever lived. They want Socialism, which means the POWER to enact it, and they will stop at nothing to get it.
There are no rules as far as they are concerned. People in the GOP need a good kick in the rump and they need to start realizing just who they are dealing with.
Congress is so corrupt it may never recover. There are honest people in Congress but they seem to be outnumbered.
agreed
