Military Appreciation Day is an event organized by volunteers to provide a day of fishing for our Active Duty Military, Guard and Reservists. The event also includes activities for their families and a southern style cookout.
MAD 2.5 will occur on Friday, September 21, 2007 on the Continental Shelf in Morehead City.
Members of the barracks are invited to bring spouses and family members if they wish.
PLEASE NOTE - we need to raise some money to pay for this, approximately $4500 will be spent on this day for these heroes! Any contributions you can make are greatly appreciated. Since we are now a 501 c 3 non profit, your donation is going to be tax deductible (check with your accountant of course)
The boat will depart at 0600 and return sometime after 1700. Capt. Tilley has been known to stay out a bit longer than planned to find the fish, so plan accordingly!
After the wounded warriors return from their fishing trip and enjoy a Eastern NC style cookout replete with 2 100 lb. pigs, the PGR has been invited to escort their bus back to the base!
Stop by the website take a look around at this very worthy Eastern North Carolina organization/charity. Check out the photos on display from MAD 2 May 2007
While there stop by and throw a little change at the DONATE button
