Embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick made an appearance today on the Atlanta-based Porshe Foxx radio program. Calling into the program, Vick gave his first interview since charges were filed against him July 17.
During the brief spot Vick thanked his fans and all those who continue to support him, and expressed regret over the negative impact the dogfighting scandal is having on the Atlanta Falcons franchise.

Vick just didn’t want to bite the hand that fed him.

low character is as low character does... Atlanta hired this schmuck knowing his issues, paid him a fortune and promited him like crazy, not it all crashes and burns because he’s nothing more than a 2 bit punk.... Atlanta management made this mess, now they can enjoy lying in it.
You don’t hire people of low character, PERIOD.
When will pro sports learn what everyone else knows?
To: HamiltonJay
Some of pro sports gets it. The team with one of the classiest head coaches and one of the classiest players just won the Super Bowl.
The Spurs won the NBA title with the classy, understated Tim Duncan.

The NAACP wants people to give Vick the same benefit of the doubt as THEY gave the DUKE boys? What racists that group is.

Just to be clear on the point:
What you’re saying is the Falcons shouldn’t have hired Vick?

Would the NBA or the NFL have enough players to field more that 1 or 2 teams if they followed that rule?

Yep... this hole train wreck was obvious before they ever gave him an offer... they chose to look away... so enjoy the mess.
Falcons had any credibility and integrity they would have never hired this schmuck... but they don’t so, they did... now their entire organization will be in disarray for years... and they probably won’t learn the lesson.

I guess his lawyer hired a PR firm. You will see more and more of this in the coming months. I would think Vick and his team would like to get a plea bargain that gives him no jail time and allows him to play eventually. It would also require a monetary payment to the animal rights groups.
To: dfwgator

Just curious...
What made Vick give these fans the finger?
I’m guessing they were rippin’ on him about something.

ALL doubt has been removed...
Professional sports has indeed sunk into depths warranting their financial ruin...and obsolescence.
Professional Baseball, Basketball and Football has become nothing if not THUG BALL...and DRUG BALL.
Perhaps if this path to undeserved riches and respect were NOT available — 10’s of thousands of young blacks would place more value on getting an EDUCATION.....
So long as THUG “athletes” and “rap stars” are presented and the Zenith of black accomplishment — it will remain an unattainable dream for most of black youth - and professional sports will swirl about the toilet bowel as it descends into the sewer...
THUG ball, nothing less nothing more....
Every “fan” who buys a ticket to watch these assholes are the enablers..

"R.L. White, president of the Atlanta chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, urged the public today to restrain itself from prematurely passing judgment on Vick. "If Mr. Vick is guilty, he should pay for his crime, but to treat him as he is being treated now is also a crime," White said at a news conference. "Be restrained in your premature judgment until the legal process is completed."
When will the MSM throw these words back in his face in light of how the INNOCENT Duke players were treated?
So even now the NAACP continues to flog Duke lax on its website?!?!

Dan Daily of The Washington Times listed three things Vick's lawyers should avoid saying at all costs:
*"My client has been hounded by these accusations."
*"The prosecution is barking up the wrong tree."
*"The DA threw the witness a bone by letting him plea to a lesser charge."
BTW, there were rumors already a while back regarding Vick and dog fighting. Now they have even his buddy implicate him.
