Giuliani: Dems Want Nanny Government

Meredith, N.H. -- Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani on Monday accused Democrats of favoring a controlling "nanny government" as he continued his bashing of the rival party.

The former New York mayor, opening a two-day campaign trip in the first primary state, also claimed that Democrats would raise taxes between 20 percent to 30 percent. He offered no specifics to back up those figures.

"Democrats are kind of falling over each other seeing who can raise taxes faster," Giuliani said. "It looks like they're going to raise taxes anywhere between 20 to 30 percent. John Edwards just said he's going to raise the capital gains tax double that. Last time we did that, we lost 40 percent in revenue. The last time we did what John Edwards is discussing, the United States lost revenue by basically discouraging people from making investments."

Edwards has proposed raising capital gains taxes for the wealthy while creating tax breaks for the middle class.

Last week, Giuliani called the Democrats the "party of losers" and singled out Edwards and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for criticism on economics and foreign policy.

Giuliani argued that he favors less government and lower taxes.

"That's what makes America great, not this nanny government that Democrats want to give us, where government controls your entire life," he said.

Giuliani leads in some national polls, but trails former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by double figures in the most recent New Hampshire surveys.

This is why Rudy is the best candidate. He is a hard ass and we need someone to that is willing to call a spade a spade.

Imagine how he will rattle Clintons cage. He will cause her to lose it during the debates.

“Party of Losers” LOL.

John

Yeah, but if he won we'd get... a nanny government.

Given Guiliani’s tracking Hillary Clinton’s policies his complaining about a nanny state is hardly credible. He personally ordered the suits agains gun makers, VERY nanny state.

Giuliani wants smaller government and lower taxes? Is that what his record demonstrates?

But we already know what he DOES want:

Abortion on Demand
Illegal Immigrant Amensty
Gay Marriage

Did I miss anything?

Rudy Giuliani on Monday accused Democrats of favoring a controlling "nanny government"

This from a man who instituted "Dance police" to bust establishments where "three or more people were swaying rhythmically to music"

Please.

Yes, you missed something. Rudy supports more gun control laws.

In June, in the straw poll in Linn Co., Iowa, the second-most populous county in Iowa, John Cox, a conservative Chicago businessman, received twice as many votes as Giuliani & McCain, combined. Cox is pro-life, anti-illegal alien, anti-gay marriage, pro-gun rights, and pro-fair tax. please read his site, www.cox2008.com.

Rudy would be a far less bossy nanny than Hillary, he’d be more like a part-time nanny. Still a nanny.

Only Obama is rattling her cage now! Hillary hopes she has Rudy to run against next year, she knows damn good and well there are people like me who would never vote for him.

People change. RR was once a Democrat (as was I until the end of his first term).

Yeah, sure. LOL.

This is coming from someone who served as the chief executive of the largest nanny-state government in the Western Hemisphere, mind you.

But Ronald Reagans position on the world did not change. He changed parties.

Guiliani is still a pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-homosexual marriage (yes yes he nuances with the BS of civil unions which are just marriage with a different name) and he still supports big governemtn onerous taxation.

Guiliani was a democrat with those credentials and he is now a RINO with those credentials. He has not changed. He just changed parties as a convenience for election.

(oh and before I forget the required mantra: Did you know Guiliani was mayor of NYC during 9/11?)

Yex, you did miss one...he hates guns —he’s a rabid anti-2nd Amendment proponent.

Rudy's liberal record pretty much negates anything he says.

Rudy, the gun-grabbing, “Abortion is a constitutional right” dirtbag IS a nanny-stater. Who is he trying to fool?

Elimination of the second and a few other ammendments to the constitution.
