Standing With Kosovo Again (Clintonist Idiot Tells his Story)

An important set of meetings will take place today at the State Department and the White House that may well determine the future stability of southeast Europe and the integrity of the international system. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is set to meet with the "unity team" of Kosovo leaders to decide the way forward on the status of Kosovo, now that it is clear Russia will veto any U.N. Security Council resolution that puts Kosovo on a path to independence.

Eight years ago, I served as President Bill Clinton's chief of staff when our administration faced a similar dilemma. Slobodan Milosevic had launched a campaign of murder and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo that had to be stopped. Then, as now, Russia stood in the way of proceeding through the preferred means of a Security Council resolution. But working with our European allies and through NATO, we found the will and international legitimacy to act.

Russia was weak ten years ago but Russia today is determined to show its going to be taken seriously. They have many options for protecting their interests in the Balkans.

They pledged to move beyond their troubled past and create an independent nation of Kosovars that protects the rights of all citizens and respects the rule of law.

So long as those citizens aren't Serbian (or anything other than albanians)! This piece is a load of total BS!

...respects the rule of Sharia law. Why is this administration following in the footsteps of WJC in supporting an Islamist bulwark in Southeastern Europe?

Strong Russia is the result of Clinton's criminal decision to bomb Serbia in support of Islamofascist terrorists.

Until then, Russians gladly accepted they lost Cold War and loved all things American. Savage bombing of Serbian civilians and Goebbels lies in the media turned Russian public opinion 180 degrees against America. American actions were illustrations what Soviet propaganda told them America is. As a result, Putin came to power.

Clinton squandered Cold war victory in one month.

The American century started with extremely bad calculation.

There is a dilemma here for the Russian foreign policy. How are they going to support the Serbs against the Kosovo muslims and maintain their good stead amongst their muslim buddies elsewhere?

...and keep reminding your Lib friends that Kosovo was NOT a UN mission, and Iraq was.
They all seem to forget this....

"Two years ago, with support and encouragement from the international community, leaders of all of Kosovo's leading parties put their differences aside and formed a "unity team" to undertake 14 months of good-faith negotiations on Kosovo's status under the mediation of a U.N. special envoy, former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari."

He could have stopped right there.

That is a dilemma for Russia. But America has an analogous problem--fighting the islamist beast in some parts of the world (e.g., Afghanistan, Iraq) and feeding it elsewhere (e.g., Southeastern Europe, right here at home).

Nearly every gret power has elites that think that they can "work with" expansion-minded islam in some part of the world. But they are ALL very wrong!!!!

This is the handy work of the all the lobbying efforts since Ahtisaari’s plan hit the toilet.

Sad but true. Feeding the scorpion. But it will sting you anyway. Why? Because it’s a scorpion. And Amnerica has been stung after all those years of supporting the muslims. I guess some people have to step on the rake many times before it hurts real bad.
