There may no longer be any tickets left. RonDog hooked me up today with a guy who had a few of them left, so I got mine. If anyone from S. Calif. is interested in carpooling, he is in S. Pasadena, and, get this, I really am in Upland. We are going to leave early and be there for the radio broadcast. If a number of FReepers are going, we have to find a way to meet.

There is a scroll at the bottom of the giant TV screens at the venue

With your cell phone you cant text a message and they will put it in the scroll.

You are somehow magically charged a dollar or so.

May be a way to get FR people to know where to meet and get together.

Pretty humorous last year. One guy texted (paraphrased) Hay hot babe in row 35, seat 12 you’re Hot! I’m the guy in the cowboy hat behind you. LOL

My husband has a ticket voucher good for two tickets at $7 bucks a piece......if anyone wants it. We were going to go, but big Navy says my wisdom teeth have to come out before I can travel and crappily enough it’s scheduled for the day of the concert! I guess it’s no good if there aren’t any tickets left, but just in case, I thought I’d throw it out there.

This ticket voucher ticket says: “General Admission, Redeem this voucher for Hannity Freedom Fest, Good for up to 2 tickets @ 7 per tix, Thu Jul 26 7:30 PM.”

Yeah, occasionally the military will do something cool. ;o) Once we got free tickets to a Padres game. They were nose-bleed seats, but it was still neat. I wish I’d known about this earlier (before the tickets ran out), but my husband just told me about the voucher the other day. It was supposed to be a surprise, but once my appointment was set he had to tell me. How much were they originally?

I do believe that Hannity made tickets available for the Military that are essentially “free”, hence the $7 fee probably required by the ticket agency.

Misty, perhaps you can find in your Military community someone to give the voucher to?

Sorry you can’t go, it’s a great experience. I went last year.

Enjoy the concert Doug!

Oh Ok! I’ll tell my husband to put the word out in case someone didn’t get one of these vouchers. I haven’t been to a concert in ages, so $70 bucks sure sounded like a lot to me! :o) I’ll bet it’s worth every penny, though!

Dear Doug:

Thanks for your wonderful report from San Diego and the Freedom Alliance Concert. About an hour and a half ago at around 7 a.m. here in Germany we got a call from my son in San Diego who also gave a teenager' s account of the concert.

We had sent Adam for his 16th birthday present to Oliver North's Military Leadership Academy which just happened to overlap the date of Sean Hannity's concert in San Diego. The kids in the leadership Academy were formed as a guard unit and escorted Shawn Hannity around the stadium and got to sit next to the VIP section. I had hoped that Oliver North's group would be taken to the Sean Hannity concert, although it was not part of the curriculum.

We had previously received two very brief cellphone accounts of his experiences with Oliver North's Military Leadership Academy which involved exposure to Navy SEALs, a visit to USS Boxer, rides in new and old fashioned landing crafts, and in general exposure to "at least one hero every day." They get the kids up early and start their day with PT and running. Evidently, the kids were issued three T-shirts for their PT drills to use over a six-day period. In reciting each of these adventures, we received the ultimate in depth report from a freshly minted 16-year-old when we asked his reaction to this new and exciting world of people and war machines: "Cool."

In addition to misplaced hopes to expand our son's language skills, we were partially motivated to send him to this Academy to offset the relentless left-wing worldview which he receives daily from the professors in his gymnasium which he attends here in Germany. In this later object, at least, we seem to have scored a bull's-eye. One can tell from the inflection in his voice when he says "cool" that both the North Military Leadership Academy experience and the Sean Hannity Freedom Alliance Concert were very cool indeed.

Other important news from these fronts includes the intelligence that he would like to extend the Military Leadership Academy but his T-shirts have gotten pretty "gross." Delighted that our son had evidently doubled his vocabulary, we were then overjoyed to learn that, "Jon Voight shook my hand." We marveled at this rhetorical eruption. Do you suppose this oral tsunami broke upon us because he is aware the Jon Voight is Angelina Jolie's father?

After this exposure to a few good men in the Marine Corps, and a few real good Americans who love their country, this teenager's diabolical father is shipping him off to backpack in the boonies around The Four Corners area with a bunch of vegan (no offense Doug) tree huggers. Hug! I wonder what new word they will add to his burgeoning vocabulary? Maybe he will learn the phrase, "my father is fair and balanced."

What a great report of the concert! I’m so glad to know who those kids in the camo were. I stood near them during the H&C taping. Looked like they were having the time of their lives, getting to escort all those famous people. Too bad Ann Coulter wasn’t there this year ;) How cool to be able to say at age 16 that you met two (when Fred declares) Presidential candidates. When Sean was ready to leave the taping area (actually they could barely tear him away from the crowd) those kids really had to be on their toes, because he was reaching over their shoulders to sign autographs and shake hands even while they were trying to move him through the crowd. It was SOOO COOL! It’s awesome to think you sent him all the way from Germany to do it! We only drove 6 hours, but either way it was so worth it. Next year don’t send the kid, bring him!

Doug, I so wish I’d found this thread before the concert. I was so dying to talk about it! If I’d known you were going to be there my husband and I would have made an effort to meet you. BTW, didn’t you love the American Chauvinist booth? They still had a crowd three deep 10 minutes after the concert ended. And the homemade signs outside thanking the troops. I took photos and sent them to my boys. This year was even better than last year. Can’t wait for next year!

We were there over two hours before the gates opened to the public. I used my genuine fake FR press pass to convince a guy from KFMB to let us in early.
