Congress fails to adopt lawsuit guards
WASHINGTON, July 20 (UPI) -- Protection from lawsuits for wrongly reporting suspicious behavior has failed to pass the U.S. Congress.
The legislation was inspired by a suit brought by a group of Muslim imams who were removed from a U.S. Airways flight to Phoenix before it left Minneapolis last November, The Washington Times reported. Some passengers on the plane said they had seen the imams, behaving suspiciously by praying together before boarding.
The imams, who were allowed to leave after several hours of FBI questioning, sued the airline, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission and unnamed passengers.
Democratic leaders said that the lawsuit protection could lead to racial profiling. The provision was kept out of a homeland security bill during a House-Senate conference.
"This is a slap in the face of good citizens who do their patriotic duty and come forward, and it caves in to radical Islamists," said Rep. Peter King, R-NY, who sits on the House Homeland Security Committee.

Time to take names again and publish how each of them voted. Their votes will make get ads during election season. The American people need to be reminded how each and every one of these elitists voted. Those that voted against the American people need to be sent home in disgrace.
That statement is ridiculous. You can't "wrongly" report suspicious behavior. Suspicious is suspicious.
The Democrats would prefer that we are mute, sitting ducks, not even able to use our own good sense. Our safety is but a pawn in their game for power.

Like 9/11 and all the other sh$t was pure fantasy.
Liberalism is a fatal disease.
Why don’t the Dems just come out and pass the Terrorist Protection Act of 2007, making it a crime to report anybody Acting Suspiciously While Muslim? Just so we know where we stand.
Gosh, the poor dears, they were just praying, not marching up and down shouting "Allah Akbar", eyeballing everybody on the plane, demanding seat belt extenders they didn't need, etc.
Right, praying.
To All Democrat Freepers reading this: If and when there is another attack, YOU will have blood on your hands because YOU have ELECTED these TRAITORS!!! YOU want AMERICA to be DEFEATED by these Jihadis because you despise Bush more than you care about your FAMILY....you can't RUN AWAY from this.....you COULD call your Rep. and Senators and tell them you want America to WIN!!! Otherwise, don't be shocked at decent people SHUNNING and DESPISING YOU!!!
Enough is ENOUGH!! Help us BEAT this Hideous ENEMY of ALL of us!! YOU may be on Their side, but they want YOU KILLED also! Stand Up for your Family and your Country!
Whatever happened to the advice for citizens to stay vigilant and to report anything out of the ordinary?
This is all part of the national slow motion suicide process.
The next time I see a sign on the Metro asking me to report any abandoned packages, I’ll think twice about doing so.
All this crap the rats are doing makes me have flashes when the ‘toons’ were in office. The Horror of it All.
Not so slow I'm afraid!

Democrats Who Want You Sued For Reporting Terrorism
http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/188762.php
These morons voted against lawsuit protection from Islamic grievance rackets like CAIR for reporting such things as noticing jihad videos being developed by jihadis at Circuit City.
They’re strong on national security - just not on letting the average person tip them off to suspicious behavior. They’ll handle it, thank you. They can’t even seem to pinpoint where 7 billion of their pathetic pork projects is going, but they have a lock on knowing what Johnny Jihad is up to at any one moment.

These photos need to be sent to each member of Congress to remind them that we are at war for our survival. Remind them what took place on 9/11. It is apparent by their actions and by the vile words that come out of their traitorous mouths that they have, indeed, forgotten. They are reprehensible and I question the oath they took when they went into office. They, obviously, lied when they said they would protect and defend this country. Our founding fathers are turning in their graves.
Military coup or civil war? I prefer the former. God help us all.
“Democratic leaders said that the lawsuit protection could lead to racial profiling.”
There is good news in all of this terrorist protection on the part of the left. The end result will be more terrorist attacks and most of those attacks will be in the liberal bastions represented by big urban areas. Therefore, most of those killed and maimed will be liberals. I hate to wish anyone ill, but better them than people who actually try to help defeat the enemy.
You are absolutely right. The Republican party should be taking the lead on this, sending prominent members of the party onto all of the Sunday morning talk shows, talking to the print media, running commercials, and using all means at their disposal to make sure the American people are well aware of what has happened here. But they won't.
Tell us how you really feel, Suzy! ;o)
*sigh* I’m shocked. NOT!
If you get to frame the debate and control the language...
Yep!
Good to see you null!
Freepers see the errors of the dems everyday, but I think this one is different. Even the most ignorant of Americans can look at this one and see who the liberals are pulling for, and it’s not us.
The "John Doe's" and "Jane Doe's" on the Flying Imams' flight will now be sued. What will happen then? Will America wake up?
VOINOVICH voted for this!
“Congress Fails To Adopt Lawsuit Guards (Flying Imams)”
Well, VOA regrets to be PUSHED to the logical conclusion that folks
in The Border Patrol, The US Military and the Average Joe/Josephine
that notice a nutty guy that is mumbling in Arabic before your
commercial flight...
should just STFU.
Because Dubya, Alberto Gonzalez, Jimmy Sutton, The United States House
of Representatives and U.S. Senate as well as other government types,
ACLU and similar ilk are dutifully looking over your shoulder to
find out what YOU did wrong if you say
“Hey, that guy/gal is acting like a NUTBURGER and should
be held for observation”.
Don’t believe me (VOA)?
Fine.
But just read this string of recent threads.
Gingrich Says U.S. is Waging ‘Phony War’ Against Radical Islam

“Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich charges that the United States has been waging a weak and “phony war since Nine-Eleven” and continues to lose ground to radical Islam.
In a speech to the annual conference of Christians United for Israel, Gingrich charged that instead of fighting to win, President Bush is now pursuing appeasement through a proposed Mideast peace conference.
Comparing that to the attempted appeasement of Nazi Germany at Munich before World War Two, Gingrich said, “We don’t have a peace process. We have a surrender process.” “
Bush Alters Rules for Interrogations

“President Bush signed an executive order Friday spelling out new interrogation techniques for terrorism suspects that bar cruel and inhumane treatment, humiliation or denigration of prisoners’ religious beliefs.”
Good rant.
The flying jerks should have been pummeled to their rewards.
My solution: To hell with being afraid of being sued. If I am really, really in fear for my life or safety...somebody’s gettin’ hurt.
Then, if I’m wrong........
SUE ME !
