NAACP National Board Chairman Julian Bond says the possibility that New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward will never be rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina is comparable to a "lynching."
(((YAWN)))
Not you — Mr. Bond. Yet another post-Katrina whiner.
Julian Bond is a RACIST idiot.
First men with girls names...do not listen to them.
When Retards Attack!
These people have sat around and done NOTHING on their own behalf waiting for big daddy gubmint to ride in and throw billions of undeserved money at them. They were suckling at the big teat before the storm and will continue to do it, generation after generation. They encourage hatred from the outside because of their behavior, attitude, and ignorance of the harsh reality that sometimes you have to do for yourself.
Okay tell Bush to stop having the military hold guns on these people and preventing them from taking hammer in hand and getting to work. Bush is so mean!
My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn’t leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don’t blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me “Julian.”
NAACP National Board Chairman Julian Bond is a NAGGER.
I’ve never met a female Julian. Two men, yes.
Bond is a black racist looking for a platform to be heard and made relevant.
Look into your own community there pal. Look at the percentage of fatherless families. Look at how other places hit hard by hurricanes repaired and rebuilt for and by themselves instead of waiting for a handout and the gubmnt.

Exactly. And these folks conveniently forget that other areas were also devastated by Katrina — parts of Mississippi, Alabama, etc. — not to mention places in Florida and elsewhere damaged by storms, floods, hurricanes and what not that year. The residents in those places picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and rebuilt. You don’t hear whining and moaning about not getting government help. If those people were able to get their lives back together, then these bums should be able to do the same.
The lower Ninth Ward never should have been built in the first place. The only thing that made it affordable to those that eventually built there was the undesirable level of risk associated with its location.
That risk was fully realized by Katrina. For what it would cost to rebuild there, between the more stringent construction codes and the astronomical increase in insurance rates, people can afford to live someplace safer.
Hey Julian, ever heard the phrase, “The Lord helps those who help themselves”?
If your beloved citizens of NOLA would get off their collective dead asses instead of waiting for a handout, then you might see some changes.
Until then, New Orleans will not improve unless and until THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE MAKE IT HAPPEN. The “gub’mint” can’t do it for you.
Schoolbuses were available. The disaster plan was ignored. The incompetence of the mayor and governor was mind boggling. The victims of the storm are being screwed over by people like Julian Bond. People need to help the very young and very old in time of disaster. What in the name of God will these Americans do in time of a man made horror? Sit on the roof and scream at George W. Bush? I watched and could not believe that the citizens did not even have a survival instict and expected to be carried out by others. Nothing can teach people common sense. It seems to me we have many Americans without any at all.
Strange fruit, indeed.
What would you do?
What would you do if you were black?
Sadly, the two questions don't have the same answer.
To the first: Most of us would take our families out of that city quickly to protect them from danger. Then, able-bodied men would return to help others in need, as wives and others cared for children, elderly, infirm and the like.
For better or worse, Hurricane Katrina has told us the answer to the second question. If you're black and a hurricane is about to destroy your city, then you'll probably wait for the government to save you.
This was not always the case. Prior to 40 years ago, such a pathetic performance by the black community in a time of crisis would have been inconceivable. The first response would have come from black men. They would take care of their families, bring them to safety, and then help the rest of the community. Then local government would come in.
No longer. When 75 percent of New Orleans residents had left the city, it was primarily immoral, welfare-pampered blacks that stayed behind and waited for the government to bail them out. This, as we know, did not turn out good results.
Enter Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan. Jackson and Farrakhan laid blame on "racist" President Bush. Farrakhan actually proposed the idea that the government blew up a levee so as to kill blacks and save whites. The two demanded massive governmental spending to rebuild New Orleans, above and beyond the federal government's proposed $60 billion. Not only that, these two were positioning themselves as the gatekeepers to supervise the dispersion of funds. Perfect: Two of the most dishonest elite blacks in America, "overseeing" billions of dollars. I wonder where that money will end up.

Whine, whine and whine. Cry babies. As long as they can waste space, breath and everyone’s time; they will continue the “woe is me” prattle.
Isn’t there a person with a spine and honesty out there?
Common sense. Is that allowed when talking about Katrina?

Bingo! Yet another reason NOT to give any more taxpayer money to New Orleans.
Only a coward leaves town when a hurricane is coming. Now, if you live where you know you are going to flood, you should move to higher ground, but you certainly shouldn’t leave the city.
We live in a flood zone, I know that any car we leave at the house will flood with a high enough surge. That’s why we only keep essential vehincles at the house during hurricane season. So when we need to move to higher ground, we can. However, only the sissy cuts and runs from town when a hurricane is coming. I lived in New Orleans at one time. When we lived there, we lived in Lakeview. Now, without a doubt, I would have evacuated Lakeview. It is some of the lowest lying land in the country outside of death valley. If I had lived in the French Quarter, which is the highest ground in the city, I probably would’ve stayed, and in fact, alot of French Quarter property owners did ride out the storm in the Quarter.
It is a coward’s act to leave in advance of a hurricane if you don’t absolutely have to, because, especially in a town like New Orleans, when you leave, you willing accept the idea that you are willing to let looters go through your property until you come home. During Katrina, they evacuated 80% of the population of the city. The people who stayed were people who lived in higher ground, people who stay for every storm, and there were a few who stayed because they couldn’t get out.
But, for the most part, it was the most successful evacuation they ever had. Never before have they moved out 80% of the population for a hurricane, because New Orleans is not the kind of place where people leave. Neither is the rest of the Katrina area.
And actually, Katrina was nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Typically, when they used to run disaster simulations of the big one hitting, casualties were usually expected to be over 100,000. I’d say, considering everything, Katrina was mild compared to what it could have been.
Hey Bond! Put down the whine and pick up a hammer. If you’re not willing to do that, then stfu.
The original name is Julianna. Julian is the masculine version of a female name.
It still sounds like a girls name.
How about they take this pent-up anger at the gubmint they feel “owes” them something, and instead, target the property owners who are doing NOTHING (I was just through there a week ago) to rebuild/fix THEIR OWN property.
It is NOT the government’s job to clean up NO. It is the property owners’ responsibility - period. Just take a look at other areas also affected by Katrina and other hurricanes - people taking charge and cleaning their own stuff up...
It isn’t a race thing, it isn’t a government thing, it is a heart thing.
“says the possibility that New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward will never be rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina is comparable to a “lynching.””
It shouldn’t be rebuilt with a cent of taxpayer money. If people are stupid enough to want to re-build in a place below sea level in a region that gets hurricanes they can do it with their own money.
Julian Bond peaked when he appeared on SNL with Garret Morris.
That’s usually how it goes. The slackers suck up everything, leaving those who really need help high and dry. I think I saw on tv a few days ago that there were two guys who put in multiple claims for assistance and were paid for all of them till someone finally caught in. And they weren’t even living anywhere near the hurricane area (I think the guy on tv said they were in Texas????).
I’m sorry for all you lost...even sorrier that you didn’t get any help. I don’t mind helping those who will help themselves. But I won’t give willingly to anyone who won’t make at least some effort. And I sure as heck won’t be giving to anyone who calls me a racist.
Julian Bond’s rhetoric is comparable to oral flatulence
His problem is of course that the daily murder rate across the country occurs in the cities controlled by mayors elected by the power wielders in his organization.
Although his organization is ostensibly in favor of advancement, like Animal Farm some colored folks are more equal than others. Those who suck at the government tit are far more equal than those who make no living at all and kill each other to protect a street corner.
Julian bond is actually an enemy of the American Black population. He allows them to be killed and wounded on a scale that far greater than outweighs those similarly harmed in war. The NAACLP continues to groping in the dark looking for pocket change.
If the government is so against black folks, why are there a large number of them returning to build their homes back in the Gentilly area? The difference between that area and the Ninth Ward? The folks in Gentilly OWNED their homes, and felt the need to return to their own property. Most of the folks in the Ninth Ward were the ‘preacher vote’ people. Those who were dependent on government welfare, and were loyal to the Democrat party which voted to keep them in poverty, but gave them the means by which to exist.
they should be paying us for the favor
