Tom Tancredo is certainly right on the border issue, but his poll numbers make me think he doesn’t have the backing. It’s Fred/Rudy/Rom with McCain fading fast (in part because of his role in scamnesty. My focus is on making the front-runners aware the base is “dang serious” about the amnesty and security issues behind immigration reform. I will enthusiastically support (dollars and shoe leather) Rep. Tancredo if he wins. The way it seems now, however, is that we need the message to get through to those who will seem more likely to win the nomination. No offense intended Heartland Mom. I am in Mexico as I write this and see up front and close what the problems are and the necessity of doing this right.

A case can be made that this vote which was way too close (should have been 100 to zero against, not roughly half and half), is the transcendent issue of all time, making all other issues moot.

The reason is that IF the Democrats and enough stupid liberal Republicans had prevailed and made illegal amnesty to be law, then fairly shortly there would have been say 10-20,000,000 new Democrat voters, (believing the propaganda that the Democrat Party is "for the people"). Because of that, the Democrat Party would be entrenched for decades to come with no hope of any GOP resurgence until, theoretically, enough new ex-amnesty people's children started to register GOP. But wait -- there would always be a new wave of illegal aliens and a new wave of amnesty out of fairness, all of whom would be Democrat.

Then the Democrat Party can become the Socialist party it has always yearned to be, with the attendant pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-UN, pro-confiscatory taxation policies we have been able to fight against so far. American life and culture would be forever distorted. This would be so even IF every single Democrat-voting ex-illegal alien was socially conservative otherwise.

So it is not stretch to say that any Senator or Congressman who voted or pushed for this horrible legislation is a traitor to the America we know, and which they were willing to destroy. The question is, why?

“The American people killed amnesty. Now we have to terminate Jorge W.’s “silent amnesty” as well and reclaim America”

Another NON-defeatist!
