What about the rail??

It was always “tarred and feathered,” and “run out of town on a rail.”

Would the tar and feathers be made in China?

An ACLU Lawyer wouldn't
last 5 minutes in those days.

Tarring and feathering is a physical punishment, at least as old as the Crusades, used to enforce formal justice in feudal Europe and informal justice in Europe and its colonies in the early modern period, as well as the early American frontier, mostly as a type of mob vengeance (compare Lynch law).

I never really got the rail part. Did they dump the person off at the town limit or something?

Travis, as I understood it, the rail was a split wood fence rail, and the tarred and feathered person had to straddle it, and hang on, as they carried him out of town. Sounds kind of hard on the family jewels.

Hmmm, I pictured him trussed at the wrists and ankles, and carried out like a gutted deer.

The IRA would shave the heads of collaborators (girlfriends of British troops, say), and do the tarring and feathering on a lamp post in front of her home.

My my, your cleverness and cynicism is way up there. Good job.

As parts of the North American continent were mapped by Amerigo Vespucci first and that land was the first named after him I consider the United States “America” no matter how cute the ACLU tries to get with semantics. And yes, “Palestinians” are merely disenfranchised Jordanians and the radical scum from half a dozen other Middle Easter nations who’s savagery in the name of Islam renders them a convenient tool for those nations thirsting to wipe Israel off the map.

Oh, that’s right - they don’t even put Israel on their maps. Fair’s fair I suppose...a nonexistent nation that can’t tie it’s own shoelaces without blowing something up refuses to recognize a legitimate one in their pursuit of a lie. But try telling that to the U.N.

As far as the Associated Collective Liberal Unclean veering toward another deceit when the current one fails - all government funding should be denied them on the evidence that they no longer represent citizens at all (unless said citizen is trying to remove all mention of God).
