OK, but they have to keep him!

Perhaps while he is over there, President Bush can enact an Executive Order barring swine from aircraft and ships?

I somehow doubt that Mikey's swimming skills are very polished.

Just a thought  :-)

Now he is a Traitor to his country, having gone to and given material support to a country directly responsible for killing Americans on the battlefield.

He'd better not get to near to me.

This insipid, Socialist balloon who markets anti-American propaganda films to likeminded twits tries to play the part of the struggling documentary maker fighting the Great Corporate Entity but in reality he is rich enough to buy outright many of the nations that share his Marxist delirium.  This allows him to play the part of the poor, oppressed Paul Revere while justifying his squad of highly paid and exquisitely armed bodyguards.  I rather doubt that anyone who doesn't like him could get within half a city block of him.

I have no doubt that he will be instantly given anything and everything that he asks for.

The Iranians are insane but they're not stupid.  They know the propaganda value of this venture and will play it for all that they can.

I believe we have made it illegal to do business—any business with Iran including this cinematic abortion event.

If so, please let the Feds bave the balls to arrest, charge, try, convict, and sentence this fat bastard to the maximum confinement and fine punishable under law.

I believe we have made it illegal to do business—any business with Iran including this cinematic abortion event.

You're right, as defined here:

U.S. Treasury - Sanctions Program Summaries - Iran

Excerpt:

To whom do these sanctions regulations apply?
All U.S. persons and entities (companies, non-profit groups, government agencies, etc.) wherever located.

and the State Department has long-standing advisories against travel to Iran, as shown here:

Iran

However,  a travel advisory is different from a stipulation that you CANNOT travel to a given country, under penalty of law.  It's merely as the title implies, a consumer advisory which illustrates the risks of travel to that country.  Today it is still legal, although not advised, for U.S. citizens to travel to Iran.

If so, please let the Feds bave the balls to arrest, charge, try, convict, and sentence this fat bastard to the maximum confinement and fine punishable under law.

I'm guessing that he will try to make the case that it is a 'private, non-business trip' and the fact that he is specifically being invited by the Iranian "Government" for "cultural cooperation" will defuse any prosecutorial efforts, unfortunately.

Also, any airport arrest will be filmed by fifty different cameramen and broadcast live by all the networks.  It will be spun into "yet another illustration of George Bush's harassment of Michael Moore" and will serve only to make more money for Moore and cause another headache for the U.S. Government.

It's another example of how the wealthy and powerful can sometimes flaunt the laws of our country, and it's quite ironic that it's being done this time by someone who constantly rails against "the privileges of the wealthy and powerful" and makes a lot of money out of spouting such inarticulate, bumper-sticker rhetoric..
