MEXICO CITY President Felipe Calderon of Mexico blasted the U.S. Senate's rejection of the immigration bill on Thursday, calling the senators' action "a grave error" that avoided a "sensible, rational and legal solution."
"It's a mistake," Calderon said. "First, because it's a problem that's not being confronted. And with this evasive action the U.S. Senate is making it worse.
"Secondly, by closing the door on legal immigration, the only thing the Senate does is open the door to illegal immigration."
Calderon, appearing at a joint news conference with the visiting President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, said he continues to oppose a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border that was approved by Congress last year. Some 370 miles of fencing will be constructed by 2008, about 153 miles inside Texas. Another 400 miles would be built later.

A "grave error"? Sounds like a thinly veiled threat there IMO.
You know, we really need to build that fence.

Are there any any leaders in the world more eager to dispose of their own people than Mexican leaders?
They have lost all sense of shame.

To: Baladas
Hwy Calderon, You are not the Presidnet of the USA, nor do you have a seat in it’s Congress. You have no say. Take a look at your own immagration laws, THEN you can speak about the USA’s. On second thought you still can’t.

Hello Felipe, it wasn't the senate who stopped a train wreck yesterday, it was "WE THE PEOPLE".
Oppose a wall all you want, but guess what? It'll only be after the wall is built that we'll proceed with the immigration issue. Till then you can kiss our collective American asses.

Someone should grab a bunch of Americans -i.e, non-Hispanics of any other race, and make a similar picture as a spoof.

"Secondly, by closing the door on legal immigration, the only thing the Senate does is open the door to illegal immigration." Many, many things I've read in recent years,Senior Presidente, suggest that Mexico, too, has immigration laws and that those who violate those laws are subjected to treatment far more cruel than deportation.

These people seem to think because this bill was not passed that there is no law to cover the illegal invasion. They are wrong!!!!!! We have laws on the books right now that mandate the expulsion of these illegal squatters.
We have federal laws that cover all of our illegal invasion problem. No person in this country should hold themselves above the law, legal or illegal.
We need to expand these laws. We need to make illegal entry a federal crime. We need to make babies born here of illegal parents a citizen of their parents country of origin. We need to make every dime that an illegal makes not deductible on their employers taxes. We need to make all illegals not qualified for any welfare or medical treatment except for private pay or co pay and medical insurance. The law should mandate that the insurance company be notified that their payee is not here legally. The insurance company should then be allowed to continue or drop medical coverage. No Illegal should be allowed or entitled to anything from any of our entitlement programs!!!!! Don't kid yourself or lie to yourself. There are a whole lot of jobs that real Americans would love to have back at the same wages that were paid before the illegals stole them. Take a look at the construction jobs and what they pay now and then look at the workers who are now doing those jobs. Blacks have bee displaced out of many of those positions. Where the hell is Jesse Jackson when there is a real live situation? In the last two weeks the people of the USA have spoken loudly. We want the illegal problem dealt with in a way that does not reward people who have broken our laws. We want our jobs back. We want immigrants who come here to become productive Americans and not with a purpose of creating a northern mexican province.
To: Baladas
He makes me sick. The idiot should fix his own country so his people don’t want to leave so badly that they will come here and break our laws to stay. What if 12 million of us went down there? I can just hear and see what he’d say and we’d be lucky if we were allowed to live let alone work, own property or vote! Hypocrite of the first order!
To: Baladas
The overwhelming majority of Mexican illegal immigration to the US is of indigenous indian and "mezcla" or mixed peoples, while Calderone and the predominant ruling elite are of untainted European descent. And we're the racists here in the US?

And now I’ve another suggestion: Just to show what a fair and compassionate person he is he should open the Mexican border to all of us, just let us come and go as we wish with no checks by the Mexican government. Let us buy land, finance it for us, let us just make a life there with no requirements or strings attached. Somehow I don’t think he is ready to do this, he doesnt’ want the gringo’s to come South, except to vacation and spend money and then leave.

I'd post the first thing that popped into my head after I heard El Presidente's remarks this morning, but this is a family site. Let's just say that some of the same words popped into my head last night as I watched an illegal alien letting her kid take a piss on a sidewalk in North Hollywood last night.

Perhaps if he worked harder to end the corruption in Mexico and promote job growth there, where their natural resources are greater than ours, his citizens wouldn’t feel the need to sneak into our country and use our entitlements.
