“Who is the successor to the dear leader”
Whomever the Chinese say. They are in charge of the situation there, or at least, have a lot to say about things. Great Leader (Dead Jong-Il) was the pet project of Chairman Mao, but the current leadership view Dear Leader (Ill Jong-Il) as “bad for business”.
The Chinese became alarmed enough after the faux nuke explosion to step in and suggest that they’d be willing to facilitate regime change — and that has brought us to the point where an American diplomat can come to DPRK and talk.
Maybe we can lose him and Castro on the same day???
“May he find his Savior in his final moments. “
BTW, it’s possible that his father, Kim Il Sung, did do. (The elder Kim’s mother was a Christian.) Kim built a church and allowed Billy Graham to address a large assembly of army officers. (Having not been told how they were to respond, they all sat silently without expression.) He also apparently was going to route the succession to his own younger brother instead of Kim Jung Il, and modify the regime’s strictness. But suddenly he—and quite possibly some other top officials—abruptly died, perhaps all on the same day. (Coincidence, of course...)
PyongYang used to be known as the “Jerusalem” of Korea, with many churches (before the communist takeover.)
The Kim regime in North Korea would be condemned by the likes of Lenin or even Stalin, as Kim Il Sung and his depraved son Kim Jong Il blended what was once considered pure Communist ideology with the worst kind of nepotism and dynastic behavior.
The Kims came up with that whole ‘juche’ philosophy which is nothing more than rehashed ‘self-determination’, and with this latest news out of Pyongyang?
It means that Number One Juchebag is about to check out!
Yes he is. Earlier this year he even showed some improvement but he is still in a coma.
Come to think of it, I haven't heard of any updates on Franco lately.
“Me so ronery”
How about throwing in a few of our favorite Rats as well?
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Ruth Graham spent some of her childhood in what’s now North Korea as a missionary’s daughter, did she not?
I wonder, was it the Kentucky bourbon or the Tennessee sour mash whiskey that did him in?
Someone posted the most likely successions awhile back. Did you save that post?
Did he host any Russian visitors bearing Polonium?
