REPORTS OF A LAPTOP exploding into flames have caused Toshiba to urge its customers to check their packages. Toshiba laid the blame for the flames, that on May 24th, engulfed the British laptop, on a Sony battery pack. Toshiba said it asked Sony to investigate the incident and the firm indeed found that the battery was at fault.
It was identified as being on Toshiba's warning list, but had never been replaced.
As you should be aware, laptop computers can explode at any second, especially if they have one of the ten million or so dodgy, Sony-built batteries glowing inside.

I guess I wouldn’t ever buy a Toshiba or Sony laptop. At that, my mother wouldn’t let me buy her a new laptop. She got a Sony Vaio in 2001, and it’s still running. I sometimes use the battery when I bring it into my room. I certainly don’t want it lighting up and ruining my future.
Even though I don’t want kids.

GOODGAWD MAN! You’re just adding to the heat absorption! You’ve just given Toshiba an out. Spontaneous human combustion caused by Reynold’s wrapped wangers. STOP THE MADNESS!!

I only use toaster ovens. Microwaves are nothing more than a way for Freemasons, space aliens, and lizard people to control your brain.

Holy sh*tballs! I didn't think about that. It's going to be hard to give up. Foil has cured me of so many things (mind chatter, projectile flatulence, tingly balls, etc.) that I may just have to live with the risk.

Sparking tinfoil, mad cow disease, enema addiction, drinking your own urine - all of these 'dangers' are a sham. Whatever you hear, do the opposite.

Dell had a big recall last year for these Sony batteries. Two of my laptops had them, identified by serial number, and I must say they were very prompt about replacing them.
I’m sorry to hear that Sony didn’t catch all of them back then.
Dell had the serial numbers listed their website. If you wrote in your actual serial number it would tell you on the spot whether it was one of the bad ones. Anyone who hasn’t already checked their laptop batteries should probably do so.
