MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- Members of the 1345th Transportation Company of the Oklahoma Army National Guard are coming home this week after more than a year in Iraq.
A three-and-a-half mile parade is planned to carry soldiers to Del City High School for a welcome home ceremony and reunion with family and friends starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
The 1345th was activated in March 2006 and sent to Fort Bliss, Texas, for training, then to Kuwait before arriving in Iraq.
The unit provided transportation on combat missions.
Welcome home! Thank you Oklahoma National Guard for your service to our country!
Good job guys.
That’s why it is called the heartland!! You won’t see this in Baltimore or San Francisco.
