FYI, in case you missed this thread.
Better late than never!
Thanks,
God's speed my friend!
Bump from an old leatherneck.
My hats off to those folks who trap on a carrier...hell I used to have trouble getting on the ground with 10,000 foot of concrete....well once I did land on 4500 feet of Reynolds Wrap....
In “another lifetime” I was married to a Navy SEAL. I love this kind of stuff!
Thanks for posting. (We were assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk, so Carriers have a special place in my heart.)
I was in San Diego Bay a few years back in February, “whale watching.” A Navy sub surfaced RIGHT BESIDE US! I thought we were going to be capsized, but I later got the impression from the Captain of our ship that it was part of the “showmanship” of the day. It was pretty cool; almost as cool as the whales we saw. ;)
Is it possible for your average civilian American to take a tour of a US Navy ship, aircraft carrier etc. when the ships are in port?
Hey, where’s the gators? (And no, LHD/LHAs are not gators. Anyone who has operated with them can tell you they’re little aircraft carrier-wannabes.)
Way to go there buddy! Nothing like perpetuating the stereotype that the Army is full of mouthbreathers too stupid to make the cut in any other service.
