'Executions of cell phone users up in N. Korea'
Jerusalem Post ^ | Jun. 14, 2007

Posted on 06/15/2007 4:33:32 PM PDT by Lorianne

North Korea has increased its public executions against cell phone users and those who circulate outside information in the communist country, a South Korean government think tank said Thursday.

The phenomenon of executions of those who "circulate South Korean leaflets and sell videos and use cell phones are on the rise," the South's government-affiliated Korea Institute for National Unification think tank said in a white paper on the North's human rights conditions. No exact figures were given.

North Koreans are officially banned from communicating with the outside world but some of them listen to foreign news and use cell phones through Chinese communication networks, according to North Korean defectors in South Korea. The use of cell phones in North Korea is banned though some are smuggled into the North by Chinese who have links with South Koreans.

When one follows a cell-phone-using driver going 40 mph in a 70 mph lane, the NK solution appeals.

OMG, quick, let’s give them a few more billion in aid so they can feed their army. That should fix it. I know I’d feel better about it.

And if you have to ask.........forget it ;-)

Well, there HAVE been a few cell-phone users I'd have liked to have personally executed on the spot....

I thought cell phone range was limited to few miles. You would think it would be pretty easy for the authorities to limit or cut off service.

Perhaps they mean satellite phones?

There was a very good documentary on CNN last year, called the “secret” something about North Korea. In it, they showed a few North Koreans using cell phones while hiding, and if I recall correctly, they got reception via South Korean cell towers.

In Cuba, they have Radio Marti. They could set up something similar to be broadcast to the North Koreans; call it “Radio Ronery”.

A bill has been introduced to make it illegal for anyone (and therefore also religious leaders) to say anything derogatory of homosexualism. If the bill passes it will mean that no religious leader will be allowed to preach against this abberation, which to many Christians is still an offense against God.

If the bill passes, the first step in religious persecution will be taken in this country. The people who came on the “Mayflower” will say about his country: “What a God-forsaken hell-hole”.

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets that were before you." Matt. 5:11-12

"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life" Rev. 2:10

I am ready, are you?
