Put an Onion on His Belt

Count me among those perplexed by John McCains decision to go negative. Does the Senator think hes not coming across as curmudgeonly enough? Does he think hell reap some benefit from turning himself into the political version of Grandpa Simpson?
If I were McCain, Id go upbeat and explain my own positions and repair my own relationships with the party faithful. Thats what he has to do. Honestly, is there any Republican candidate out there that McCain would defeat (other than Larry Libertarian) in a head-to-head match-up? He has to tend to his own image. Knocking down nine other guys at this point simply isnt feasible.
This advice even carries over to McCains critiques of the Democrats. Hes not helping himself insulting Hillary at this point. Hes just looking cranky and irritable. Unless hes planning on campaigning with an onion on his belt, I would urge him to rethink this strategy.

I have more respect for Abe Simpson than for Nutsy McCain.

McCain’s a twit. I find it incredibly ironic that he’s willing to use the same dirty tactics on Romney that he claims GWB used to defeat him in 2000. We’ve come a long way, haven’t we? If you can’t win it honestly, then cheat.

I don’t understand the McCain stategery. Let’s say hypothetically he slayed Mitt, does he think then all the Mitt supporters would become McCainiacs? Heck they’d hypothetically go to Fred, maybe Rudy, and maybe even Huckabee.

Sane people should not try and figure out what insane people are thinking or why they are thinking it. Please poor Juan McVane alone. /s

Next thing you know, he’ll have to borrow campaign money from Mrs. John Kerry.

Romneys throwing a bit of mud too only he’s doing it against Thompson via the proxy organization known as Evangelicals for Mitt.
To: Reaganesque
McCain is and always has been running for the DEMOCRAT nomination and I wish he’d stop pestering us Republicans about it.

You are completely wrong. EFM is completely independent and I suspect you know it.
The other reason you are wrong is there are a lot of kind things said about Fred on EFM. In the last week there was a long post titled, "I heart Fred."

With all due respect what planet are you on? They have been slamming Thompson since he became a worry and all the other candidates since day one.
I suggest you go over their and read their postings concerning Fred Thompson.

Respect? We do not consider such statements "respectful" on my planet.
They do not think Fred is the best person to be chief executive and they point out why. They also have said several very nice things about him.
This is not attacking, it is simply voicing your opinions.

Thomspon is like McPain, without all the insanity . McPain is imploding and Thompson will pick up the McPain mantle minus the overtly pro-immigration stance .

Your list is good , although we need a true Constitutionalist in the AG slot. Ashcroft was great , Gonzales needs to step down .

To whom could he be referring?
