No, his faith is hardly immature.

And, while I have serious problems with his “compassioniate” agenda, he is far from a socialist.

How quickly people forget what real socialists look like.

I’ve studied the Bible with GWB; whatever his other flaws, he is a committed Christian.

The fraud and corruption that he has allowed to continue, with a wink and a nod, and now this attempt to actually reward lawlessness and rebellion, tends to undermine your contention. By their deeds, ye shall know them.

It’s miraculous the Star-Tribune printed this story. They probably think it makes the President look bad to people when I think most would be impressed.

You are mistaking naivetee and the tendancy to see good in people (where there is little or none to be found by those as jaded as you or me) for evil.

He knew exactly where to look when this mom mentioned the quote

So? So do about 100 million other people in this country. Mention a verse and they can tell you the general area. Some can tell you the book, and if you've been brought up in church most likely can tell you the verse. Off hand I'd say 10 million out of 300 million could do what he did. Does he get brownie points or something because he has a Bible in his desk? Is that a qualifier for President?

“I’ve studied the Bible with GWB; whatever his other flaws, he is a committed Christian.”

In David Frums book, “The Right Man” he mentions that Bible study is held at the white house.

These threads look like the DummieUnderground with all the Bush-bashing. I wish people would just make their calls and write their letters (and I’ve done my share, too!), and then stop bashing him on every single thread that in any way refers to him. Rant over.

Hey, I just called Sen. Isakson’s office. He said the letter sent by GA senators Chambliss and Isakson is not to fund the bill stalled in congress, but to fund the original bill. I said fine, but vote down this new bill-we need several years of progress before we are ready to deal with the 12 million here now. Hopefully, with some enforcement, some will go home in the next two or three years. I pointed out that the government has no credibility on this issue.

Yes, it is. The CBS (Community Bible Study) program is used.

You are probably right. I am not surprised at all that he had a bible in his desk. Nor that he knew where to find the quote.

This thread is not about immigration, in case you can’t read. Not surprising from a RON PAUL supporter.

He may speak like a naif, but the man grew up surrounded by the trappings of political power. He graduated Yale, he's owned large businesses, been governor of a large state, and elected president, twice. He is not naive.

Personally, I turn off the television when he comes on. I am completely indifferent to anything he has to say. President Bush has betrayed his country-as have the GOP Senate. You should expect this sort of think if your post pro-Bush articles.

Bush who?-the one who is trying to destroy this country with that blasted immigration bill. To he!! with him.

I see you are just like the liberals in that you cannot acknowledge any good in a person with whom you disagree on an issue.
