One Nation, Under Men With Liberty for few and Justice for None…
Capitol Hill ^ | Jun 12, 07 | JB Williams

Am I the only one left in America who is sane enough to see something horribly disturbing about these two headlines? US Court Orders Release Of Enemy Combatant From Military Detention and Paris Hilton Ordered Back To Jail…

Do I understand this correctly? Spoiled little rich snobs caught speeding without a drivers license must do hard time, but members of Al Qaeda and enemy combatants must go free?

(snip)

To the best of anyone’s knowledge, Paris Hilton is not plotting to destroy anything more than a good party, while those enjoying free room and board at Gitmo would like nothing better than to rearrange our continent and eliminate our entire way of life, reducing our population as much as possible in that process. Is our justice system now completely blind to the difference?

(snip)

Our courts no longer represent a common sense rule of law, but rather instead, the rule of a few men, free to interpret justice as they see fit, limited only by their agenda and imagination.

A bit of a non-sequitor. 45 days = hard time?

If you’re Paris Hilton, it does... If you’re a terrorist, Gitmo is too nice for you...

Our courts no longer represent a common sense rule of law, but rather instead, the rule of a few men, free to interpret justice as they see fit, limited only by their agenda and imagination.

The fact that the court even heard this case only proves the author's point. For a judge to presume to have jurisdiction over enemy combatants in a time of war is arrogance of a most dangerous kind.

Any judge who believes this is the proper place for the judicial system should be immediately removed from the bench. If the separation of powers means anything at all, then judges should simply shut up when it comes to the prosecution of a war by the Executive.

She didn’t go to jail for speeding or driving without a license. She went to jail for violating her probation. One of the terms of her probation was NO driving. And the judge told her, at her original plea to reckless driving, that if she violated, she was going in.

So that’s why she’s doing the 45 [not the max possible]. She, in a manner of speaking, p*ssed on the judge’s shoe. And they don’t like that.

AMEN and need I say AMEN again!

Some will want to split hairs over Paris troubles... Others will see the BIGGER problem for what it is and you my friend GET IT!

BRAVO!

If all American thought as clearly, America would not be on the brink of collapse...

Didn’t Colin Powell call for essentially the same?

Why is it that RINOS and RATS never seem to know when to shut up?

I have a theory...

There are two kinds of old warriors... The kind that never stop fighting till their last breath, and the kind that never want to fight for anything again, the latter being people like Powell and Murtha, one a RINO, the other a RAT.

As for your run of the mill liberal, they never knew anything worth dying for to begin with, so talk is all they know.
