Feinstein's $16.5 million view in Pacific Heights (surprise! she supports amnesty)
SAN FRAN CHRONIC ^ | January 29, 2006 | Phillip Matier, Andrew Ross

Posted on 06/03/2007 1:51:56 PM PDT by dennisw

Sen. Dianne Feinstein and her mega-millionaire husband, Richard Blum, are pulling up stakes on their quiet Presidio Terrace home and moving uptown to a Pacific Heights mansion -- with views to die for.

The $16.5 million mansion -- which sits at the foot of Vallejo Street, between the Presidio and some of the city's most hoity-toity addresses -- offers a sweeping view of the bay.

It's right off what Herb Caen christened the "Gold Rush" -- the final two blocks of upper, upper Broadway, where the residents include Ann and Gordon Getty, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, and Mimi Haas -- as in the Levi Strauss Haases.

"And everyone is extending a warm welcome,'' said former Mayor Willie Brown, who hangs with the hill crowd. "They figure it will mean better homeland security."

The very hush-hush house sale, we're told, was finalized within the past three weeks. Workers are busy fixing up the place and installing new recessed lighting before Feinstein and Blum move in.

For the past two decades, San Francisco's top power couple has lived in the shadow of Temple Emanu-El -- on the very private and swank Presidio Terrace, just off Arguello Boulevard -- where they've hosted everyone from reporters to presidents.

"We've never had a view, and this was an opportunity to get one,'' Feinstein said Friday. "We also have an expanding family -- five grandchildren and soon to be a sixth -- and we needed some more space.''

I wonder if old Diane goes along with hillleree’s stance on we will have to take from you for the good of the people. Will she take Diane’s house? Will Diane give it up willingly for the sake of the party?

and all of those silly Kalifornians who keep voting for her are handing her money to afford these luxuries.

funny thing about dem candidates and office holders, the standard they hold themselves to is not the same they expect from everyone else.

Hiltery, we are going to take things from you for the common good.

Hitlery, we shoud not have a ‘owned ‘prosperity, but a ‘shared’ prosperity.

Obviously they don’t feel that way about themselves.

With the taxes and add-ons for sewer, rat control, street lights, etc. on that bungalow running $165,000+ per year, it’s a good thing her hubby is making some money, because her US Senate salary will just barely cover the Prop 13 value assessment. </sarc>

Yeah, right. I could see old Diane standing at the front door as old socialist hillereee comes to collect her due for the sake of the party. :) Ain’t gonna happen hilllereee to diane or anyone else. She will have big troubles on her hand if she attempts that road.

This is an old article so it has to be the house that was reported on several months back where workers used land belonging to the city to build gardens at their new house. The land was a small park. Feinstein said she didn’t realize that they had encroached on the city’s land but they would pay damages. Wonder whatever became of that?

Like everything else she does crooked...nothing. When she was forced to resign as chairwoman of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee amid reports that her husband, Richard Blum, owned two major defense contractors, which were awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Feinstein, nothing happened probably because she is also the chairman of the Senate Rules Committee and thus is in charge of regulating the ethical behavior of her colleagues.

Wow. That makes Democratic Congressman William Jefferson’s $90,000 bribe in the fridge look like chump change.

How about we all hop the wall at the Kennedy compound and declare ourselves “undocumented adoptees?”

If they don’t accept it we could say they are selfish bigots.

Spent a couple of days in this area two weeks ago, on the way further up the coast. Very expensive real estate, where the Senator lives. A few blocks to nothingness, however. Everything in this small, big city is just blocks from something different.

We saw mostly tourism, beautiful sights and views, fairly sedate day-to-day life. Unlike most places in America these days, there is NOT a Starbucks or 7-11 on every corner. Hard to find a super market, at all.

We recommend “Taco Beach” on Pier 39 for Calif. style fish tacos. Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Also drive Lombard St. and see Golden Gate Park. We stayed in “Outer Sunset” district by the ocean south of Golden Gate Park, per a client’s (great) suggestion.

Eight days, 1400 miles. California Coast. Next trip probably fly and drive Texas Hill country. Any travel tips?

Along I-35 north of Austin is a little German settlement called Whalburg. There is a German restaurant and beer garden out in the middle of no where that has an all you can eat buffet that is to die for. After you eat retire to the beer garden where they have non stop entertainment, and lots of beer, wine etc. If you are going close to San Antonio, check out Kerrville and Fredericksburg.

You must go to the Czech Bakery in West, Texas. Not west Texas, but West, Texas. Just 100 miles south of DFW on I-35.

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

Perfect place for Ms. Finestein to fiddle while America burns. It seems that everything in America is suffering except our elected officials. It’s that old graft.

I still say take their money away they don’t have any place to go.
